Based on the above post on Reddit that fucked. me. up. for like, three hours today.

Probably gonna be hella short, but I just had to put this down.

"What are you doing? If you destroy the bridge, you'll never see her again!"

"You give up the Tesseract, you give up this poisonous dream! Come home..."

"Sister, when you say something else is going on, what do you mean?"

"Thor, you have to get Lady Jane to the healers so they know what to do with her. If the Aether is in her for too long, I fear what it could do."

"Father, I cannot be King of Asgard."

"You know, I remember there was one time when you couldn't lift it. You cried like a baby."

"I didn't say we should leave. There's worse ways to go."

"Nope, no way in HEL does that mean Ragnarok is coming!"

"You saved us from extinction. Asgard's not a place, it's a people."

"Thor!"

"I assure you, brother, the sun will shine on us again."

"Thor!"

"Wake up! Tell me this is a trick, please!"

"Thor, wake up!"

"Bring me Thanos!!"

"THOR!"

"You should have... You... You should have gone for the head."

"THOR, WAKE UP!"

Thor finally shot up. He looked around to see he was in his room on Asgard, a concerned Olivia and Loki on the right side of his bed.

"Finally, we thought you'd never wake up. You've been tossing and turning for ages." Olivia said.

"Woah, wait, what? Why am I here? Asgard's supposed to be gone! And how are you not dead? Wait, what about Mother? And Father? And-"

"Woah, slow down there, brother." Loki said, chuckling.

"What year is it? How long has it been since the attack on New York? Where you tried to steal the Tesseract? And take over Midgard?"

"What? Tesseract?"

"It led to our team's formation! The Avengers! Surely you remember! Captain Rogers, the Spider Child! Our friends!"

"Avengers?" Olivia asked.

"What about Thanos? He killed half our people! After Ragnarok! When our secret sister massacred nearly everyone! Hel, Thanos killed you, Loki!" Thor was near hysterical. Loki and Olivia looked at him like he was crazy.

"Thanos?" Loki asked.

"Thor, listen to yourself, you sound downright mad. You just had a bad dream. Though I didn't realize you would get such a vivid one last night." Olivia said, sitting at Thor's side on the bed.

"Now, come on. Father is waiting. You don't want to be late for your coronation, do you?" Loki asked.

"You mean the coronation you sabotaged? By letting in the Frost Giants?" Thor huffed.

"What makes you think I would do such a thing? We're at peace with them thanks to me, you idiot."

"So you know?"

"Know what?"

"That you are one?"

Loki and Olivia exchanged an exasperated look before Olivia took Thor's hand in hers gently.

"Thor, listen to me." She said. "You just had a bad dream, trust me. We've known about Loki's true parentage since we were kids. There was no sabotage. There was no attack on New York. No one knows where the Tesseract is. There are no Avengers. Ragnarok hasn't happened and likely never will in our lifetimes. There is no Thanos. Hela reigns over Hel comfortably with no animosity between us. You remember when she visited us for Yule last year, right? But I speak the truth when I say that everyone is alive and well. I promise."

"But-"

"Thor. You're going to be crowned today. You need to get dressed and ready. You've been waiting your whole life for this moment. But do try to be humble." Olivia stood back up.

"And you're not jealous or anything?" Thor asked Loki.

"Jealous of what? You being king? That really must have been quite the dream. Of course I'm not. If anything, I pity you. All that responsibility... I'd never have any free time anymore. It gives us time to travel and do what we please. The only person I have to worry about other than myself is Olivia." Loki said, wrapping his arm around Olivia's shoulders. "But we have the utmost faith in you. You've been learning and preparing for years. The realms are in good hands."

"Now hurry up and get ready. You have a big day ahead of you. So you better soothe that boundless imagination of yours and get cleaned up. We'll see you soon." Olivia said with a smile as she and Loki left the room. Thor blinked a few times and sat up. The dreams Olivia had crafted in the past were never that vivid. But he trusted her word that it was just that; a dream.

He pitied whatever alternate self's life he had glimpsed into, but as he allowed his thoughts to reorient themselves, he realized that it was just a dream. That's all it would ever be.

This is an interesting thought, actually. What if the MCU was just a bad dream and all the big problems that started it all just... Didn't have room to exist? It kind of goes back to the idea that if Loki hadn't let go in Thor 1, the MCU as we know it wouldn't exist because it's that important of an event. He never would have found Thanos, never would have attacked New York, the Avengers would never have formed, and who knows what else wouldn't be able to happen?

Also I just wanted to incorporate that dumb idea that I occasionally get about what if Hela wasn't resentful/banished. She probably would have been a dope older sister tbh.

I'm getting too many ideas, I gotta stop.
