"Okay so all you have to do is..." My brain seemed to space out as my classmate, Cho, tried to explain how to do the math problem. It's not like I could help it! Once my brain realizes math is involved it automatically shuts down! "Y/n!" I snapped out of my thoughts to see Cho starring at me. " I know you don't like math, but you do realize that you go to an actual school now right?"
"Right sorry..." I shook my head and went back to focusing on the problem.
"Good! So I'll explain again, the way you solve this is by taking the 3 and multiplying it on both sides," She used the tip of her pencil to point at the problem as I quickly wrote a 3 down in both spots. She then began to continue her explanation until she was cut off by my phone dinging. She looked up at me annoyed and sat back with a huff. "Go ahead, I'll wait!" She signaled towards my phone.
I hesitated at first after seeing her reaction, but I quickly grabbed my phone and checked to see it was a message from Viktor.
Viktor: Hello puppy!
I rolled my eyes as I placed my phone down. "Sorry about that, Viktor has a problem of texting me at bad times." I smiled at Cho, as I remembered the couple of times he's texted me with horrible timing.
"You are pretty busy I guess. Being all big like you are must be pretty tiring." She sat up. "My cousin does skating and is pretty big too, always complaining about everything too!" She chuckled.
I continued working with Cho as she tried to help.
"You gotta stop spacing off soon as you see numbers..." Cho said.
"I can't help it! I try to listen but my vision just unfocuses and my brain is like 'here think of anime guys and skating' then suddenly you're done and I have nothing!"
Cho looked at me with disappointment and sighed. "Let me try to explain again in simpler terms..." She leaned over and started writing on the paper again making her 10th attempt to explain the same problem.
Soon our time ran up and we both walked out of the library.
"Same time Wednesday?" Cho asked.
"Yeah, if that's good with you." I smiled.
"It is," she nodded. "I'll try to come up with ways to help you stay focused by then." She looked at me and smiled softly.
"Thanks... sorry for being so difficult..." I laughed nervously.
"Don't be, I'm aware you took a while off school to do competitions and I've dealt with worse." She reassured me while placing her hand gently on my shoulder for a quick second. She stepped back. "Oh what do you like to eat? I'll bring us food, maybe that'll help a little bit." Cho offered.
"Uhh if it's not too much to ask for... maybe f/f?" I said.
"Got it, good choice that's amazing." She pointed at me for a second then she turned around to go her direction home. "I'll see you next week!" She waved.
"Bye." I waved and started walking towards my house. My phone would buzz every now and then but I chose to ignore it for once. I found walking to be highly soothing and relaxing after a stressful day after school, focusing on everyone on the internet usually just blocked myself from relaxing completely.
"Good afternoon!" One of my neighbors greeted me as I passed by his house.
"Good afternoon, sir!" I waved slightly to him while continuing walking.
I got up to my door and went to open it before I heard someone yelling my name. I sighed as I turned around and saw B/f/n as she was basically sprinting over to me like she hasn't seen me in months.
