Scene 1:
Clive fell asleep, and he's now dreaming that he's in the middle of an oval field, playing Australian football. It's him versus everyone, but he's somehow managing to destroy them, one by one. All of a sudden, everyone disappears. Well, everyone except a very familiar face, who seems to have no intention of playing footy.
Clive: Linda? What are you doing here? I'm trying to win this weird school wars thing.
Linda: (laughs) No you're not. This isn't even a real game. You're dreaming.
Clive: I am? (looks around) Oh, yeah, makes sense. That explains why I was the only one of my team
Linda: Yes, and school wars is only in a couple weeks.
Clive: How do you know that?
Linda: Well duh, we're in your subconscious.
Clive: Oh, right... So, you're not real.
Linda: Yeah I am... I mean, not this version of me. But I am real.
Clive: I suppose, but we'll never meet again. My subconscious needs to get over you.
Linda: But we will meet again.
Clive: In my dreams, maybe. But in real life, nope.
Linda: We will meet again in real life.
Clive: No, we won't. You're nothing but my subconscious right now. This is a dream.
Linda: This is not a dream. This is a preview of what's to come.
Clive: No, it's not. Things are not like that. It's not like I'm gonna go to Slade Island one day, and suddenly, during the famous endless sunset, you come out of the shadows to kiss me. Real life is not like that... Why am I even arguing with my subconscious?
Linda: (laughs hysterically) You're funny. I should kiss you now.
Clive: Well, since we're here in this dream, I may as well get a kiss.
[She slowly grabs him by the shirt and kisses him. He wakes up, in his bed]
Clive: Ugh, c'mon Clive. You have to get over her.
[He tries to fall asleep again, but his alarm clock made noise. It was time to get up already. He got up, put on his uniform and had fairy bread for breakfast, as he talked to his parents]
Clive: Mom, this sprinkly thing is delicious.
Maggie: I'm glad you like it, Darius.
Clive: Oh, and by the way dad, it seems that they still do that school wars thing.
Reverend: Really? That's great. Some traditions must be preserved.
Clive: We're gonna be competing against East Brissy in a lot of things. Footy included. I'm actually gonna see if I can get into the team today.
Maggie: (seemingly worried) Footy? Honey, that's a bit dangerous.
Reverend: (laughs) No it's not. Let the kid play football. I played it too at his age.
Clive: Mom, relax. It's just footy.
Maggie: But... But you can get hurt.
Reverend: He most likely won't... And so what if the kid gets injured? He'll recover from it. We can't protect our children from the inevitable.
Clive: Exactly. And it's not like I have to play a lot. It's just this game against East Brissy on school wars. C'mon mom.
Maggie: Fine... But please be careful.
