Home To The Fire Lands

I stood on the sand looking up at Romeo.

"Is it even possible? I mean how?... Go home?"

Romeo chuckled softly as he looked into my eyes.

"Hey, slow down, Holland... I know you have so many questions and I will explain them as best as I can."

I took in a deep breath then breathed out slowly.

"This has just gotten real so quickly."

"I'm sure it has, but firstly, yes... It is truly possible to take you to the Fire Lands. Secondly, the only way to get in is by a dragon taking you there and thirdly... You have me... It's your home, you belong there."

"So will I be able to find it?"

"Eventually yes. Once the dragon bond in you is released, you will be shown the way, but we need to get you to the Fire Land to do that... Here you are just a human."

Romeo then smiled as he reached out to my hair then played with it gently with his fingertips.

"Holland, you were taken away from the Fire Lands to keep you safe... You will learn the reason as you meet with the head dragon... It has taken me many years to find you again."

I looked at him with surprise. Romeo smiled as he watched me open my mouth to speak then I closed it again. I tried again then it finally came out.

"Just how old are you?"

Romeo chuckled softly.

"Everything will be explained... Let's get you ready for the adventure you have always desired.

I smiled at Romeo then thought of my parents I have always known. I know I will be leaving them behind. Will I be able to see them again? I felt sad and tears started to fall. What about Holt? I miss him so much.

"I have to leave my parents a note. I can't go without saying goodbye."

"I understand that, but someday you will be able to come back and see all your loved ones... It's not impossible."

Romeo smiled to reassure me as he still pulled softly on my hair. We then started to walk back along the beach back to my house. I turned to look at Romeo as we arrived outside the house.

"What do I need to take with me?"

He chuckled softly as he spoke.

"Only what you can carry in a backpack as there isn't anywhere to put luggage. I then realized I will be riding on his back. I chuckled back at him.

"Everything you would need will be provided for  you by Brody."

"Brody?"

"Yes, the head dragon... You will meet him once we arrive."

Romeo smiled and nodded to me that it was all okay. I then walked inside my house to write my parents a note. I wrote Holt one too for when he returned. I couldn't tell them about Romeo being a dragon or that I am supposedly from the last dragon realm either.

I just told them that Romeo knows of my birth parents and he is going to help me find out more, and I might be gone for a while, but I  will see them all again soon. I then left the notes on the living room table. I knew they would find them there.

I packed a small rucksack with underwear and a couple of T-shirts and leggings. I then thought maybe I could fit a dress in there? Oh, I also need my make-up. I stuffed everything into the bag. I just about managed to zip it up. There I think that's it?

I then noticed a family photo. I took the photo out of the frame then placed that in the pocket of my jeans. I grabbed my denim jacket as I took one last look around my room. I felt the tears start again. I wiped them away as I left my room.
