This Is What They Say: Part One

That evening I went to see Holt in his room. I felt my heart in my throat as I knocked on his door.

"Holt? Are you in there? I need to talk with you!"

Holt opened the door and gave me a big smile. He could see by my face I looked troubled.

"Holland? What's wrong? It's not Scarlet or Kaida? Are they unwell?"

"No, they are both well. Can we sit and talk for a moment?"

Holt nodded as he took hold of my hand in his as he pulled me into his room. We sat on the bed together as I looked up at him.

"I had a vision and it was about Sasha... She is planning to go back to the human world and she is going to ask Quinn to help her forget everything... When I say everything, I mean... You, the dragon realm and even Jack."

Holt got up from the bed and placed his hands on his head as he paced around his room. He was truly shocked at hearing this. I watched him as he didn't know what to do with himself. I called out to him.

"Holt! Look at me."

I walked over to him and pulled his arms from his head. He stopped pacing and looked at me with sad eyes. I knew this was going to kill him inside hearing Sasha wants to give up Jack.

"Holland... What should I do?"

I cupped his face in my hands. He looked at me for answers as I spoke.

"Firstly, you need to go and see Sasha and talk it out with her."

"I know I do, but how do I deal with knowing she doesn't want her own son anymore?"

"Just listen to her. I'm sure you will work it through."

"But... For her to not want to remember her own son is cruel... I know you would never do this to your daughters... She is only doing this because she knows I am not in love with her... She wants to hurt me."

He pulled me into his arms as he buried his face in my neck. I felt his tears fall onto my skin. I caressed his head softly as I spoke.

"Go and talk with her. I will be right here when you get back, I promise. But there is more to my vision."

Holt looked up at me as I wiped away his tears.

"Our family home in Ashland is to be torn down. I guess it is because we are no longer there, and our aunt doesn't want the memories of our parent's death to be a reminder to her."

"Do you know when?"

"Soon, as I only see the future. I know it will happen when I take Sasha back to the Human realm... We both go with her."

"Then Sasha must be talking with Quinn about having her memory wiped as she returns?"

"Yes, she could well be. Go and talk with her, Holt... Make sure she really understands she won't ever see Jack again if she does this."

Holt nodded as he kissed my head then left. I sat on his bed nervously waiting for him to return.

I felt lips press against mine as I opened my eyes. I must have fallen asleep while waiting for Holt. I looked up to see his smile as he stroked my hair.

"Wake up sleepy head."

"Holt? What happened? Did you sort it out with Sasha?"

Holt sat down next to me on the bed as he pulled me into his arms. He stroked my hair again as he spoke.

"When I got to the cabin, Quinn was there telling her that if she goes back to the human world and agrees to his spell, she will forget everything, including Jack... I pleaded with her to stay here. Even if we are not in love she could still find love. That way she could be by Jack's side."
