Erica: What?! Why?
Nadia: We were coming back from the restaurant and she suddenly passed out. We called an ambulance, and now she's been admitted. They don't know what's wrong with her, they've checked all the usual causes, but nothing fits. We just got a call, she's in a coma!
That can't be happening right now. I'm still there, just squeezing the girl who's breaking into my arms. It took us a long time with Mr. Jason to revive her. She was fully overwhelmed.
Jason: Calm down, she's going to be okay, I'm sure...
Nadia: I want to go see her now!
Jason: There's Grandma there and Orpheus. You haven't slept all night, try to rest for a while.
Erica: Nadia, that's the way it's supposed to be, your father's right. I'm going to take you to bed to bed, I know it's hard to sleep, so just try to rest your mind a little. You'll think of things more logically.
Mr. Jason was looking back and forth at Nadia and me.
Jason: Looks like you two are very close.
He's announcing softly. He sticks his mouth in my ear to whisper.
Jason: I have to take care of some things, please stay with her and look after her.
I would have done it without him asking me to. He walks away and restores the tone of his voice to normality.
Jason: I'll get you some food at noon and we'll spend some time together.
Erica: All right, Mr. Jason, thank you!
He stood up in silence and, took one last look at Nadia, said goodbye and left. Holding her in my arms, I lift her off the couch and lead her to the bathroom to pour some water on her face. I'd never seen eyes so swollen from crying and sleeplessness.
I didn't think you could get to that level. Nadia didn't have any more tears, she used to take a few sobs from time to time. I squeezed her warm body, one last time against mine, before I put her on her bed and gently covered her. Weakly touches my fingertips.
Nadia: Please don't go, I'm afraid!
I put all my affection into answering her.
Erica: I'm sure bathing can wait. You are more important.
Nadia: Take a bath here, it's not going to hurt anyone.
I see her fading from exhaustion and falling into lethargy. I'll take her offer and bathe here.
