I tried to break out all my thoughts on the run, so it seemed this time in the trials like I beat them all. I couldn't feel the pride, my joy was expressed through Nadia's applause. She approached me, hugged me, and we left.
Instead of watching her walk home, I see her leading me somewhere completely different. What was on her mind? She detected the question in my eyes and shook my hand reassuringly.
Nadia: I got an idea.. I think I know something that'll make you relax.
Erica: What?
Nadia: You'll see it's a surprise..
Diplomatically, she didn't give me a clear answer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------For a long time we roamed the city. It was beautiful, the strong lamps lit up the boulevards and the moon was beautiful without hiding from clouds. We stopped in front of a big store. I'm looking the forward of it before we passed its entrance
Nadia: The lending library. You can sign up, come and discover more books like the ones you like
I was ecstatic by the plethora of books around me. This is where I'd find all the issues in the series. I'm hugging her.
Erica: Nadia, I love you!
An old woman approaches us and asks nicely.
Mary: Can I help you?
Her enthusiasm was not hidden, it seemed that the library, although a gorgeous place did not have high traffic and especially from young people.
Nadia: Yes! We want to create an account for my friend Erica.
She's pointing me out, and I'm responding shyly. She lead me to her office where she and my best friend filled out a series of papers. I was happy.
Mary: All right, then, ready
Her smile was inging heat.
Erica: Great! I would like to ask you if you have a specific series of books that I really like, their author is the < fire arrows>. She twisted her eyes and her lips transformed from a smile to slightly open. Did I say something I shouldn't have?
Nadia: I'm sorry... Are you all right?
She looked at her and then turned to me. Her face had lost its heat, she was outraged.
Mary: How dare you ask me that!?
The tone of the absolute, shaken all myself by its imposingness.
Mary: Get out of my way right now!
I took Nadia by the hand and we were just as confused as we followed her order.
Nadia: What was that now?
Erica: What can I tell you... Thank you, though.
Nadia: Yes.. I'd be able to do something good.
Why does all the weird stuff happen to us? We're home. The rest were in the hospital. She opened the cupboard and gave me the bitter almonds. We chewed a few, though she didn't like them, she's often found herself eating out of nervousness lately.
We sat on the couch to watch a program on TV.
Erica: Nadia?
Nadia: Mmm?
Erica: When has your father taken these books?
Nadia: The fire arrows?
I nod.
Nadia: I don't know... I remember them forever in our library. They must be there before I'm born. You're asking why the librarian freaked out when she heard them?
Erica: That's right! Maybe they're valuable enough. It could be the books the burglars were looking for.
