Chapter 33: Bye Dad.

Peter woke up at 6:00am on Monday so he would have time to get ready for the trip. Hopping in the shower, he took the time to process and sort through all the thoughts that were invading his head, Tony had just adopted him and he finally felt as thought he was part of a family again and now he was leaving, it was only for 3 days but he knew it would feel a hell of alot longer than that.

Still, he tried to focus more on the positives, hanging out with Ned, the science fair, fancy meals and possible awards to contribute to his future. He stepped out the shower and dried his hair before getting dressed, he chose a pair of jeans, a Stark Industries shirt with a plain jacket that had the badge MJ gave to him on it. Checking himself in the mirror one last time he headed out to go and eat some breakfast.

He sat down eating his toast he had made next to Tony, it was still quite early so everyone else was either asleep or on a run which left Peter and Tony to eat together. "You sorted? Got everything you need?" the man asked, taking a sip of what was probably his fifth cup of coffee already. "I think so, just need to pack my toothbrush and hairbrush and that will be it." he replied, taking a bite of his food.

"So...who gave you the badge?" Peter chocked on the toast he was eating and Tony had to, embarassingly, pat him on the back when he launched into a coughing fit. "N-no-one." he stuttered out, smiling sheepishly at his Dad. "Yeah, I don't belive that for one second, spill it."

The boy swallowed before mumbling something under his breath. "Sorry, didn't quite catch that?" Peter let out a frustrated sigh before saying it a bit louder. "MJ gave it to me." Tony quirked an eyebrow before smirking slighty. "MJ, huh? She your girlfriend?" he teased, nudging him in the side.

"No she's just a friend and if she heard you say that your throat would be slit by now." he retorted, shifting so his bright red face wouldn't be as obvious. "Oooh, Petey gone for a bady has he?" Tony pressed on, much to the boys displeasure, who just shoved the rest of his toast in his mouth and left the table. "Hey, c'mon bud atleast give me a description!"

"Goodbye!" Peter yelled back before leaving the room to busy himself with final preperations, and to stop Tony from pestering him.

As much as Tony bad tried to cover up how he really felt, he could't help but feel overprotective of Peter, the boy was leaving and would be without him for 3 days. After everything that had happened with Peter and this Davidson guy he wanted to make sure the boy was ready, and happy to go.

After finishing up his coffee he made a list of all the things that could happen while Peter was away.

List of things that could happen:

-Peter could get lost
-Peter could forget to eat food
-Peter could miss the bus
-Peter could be stupid

"Hey! Don't underestimate my intelligence!" Peter exclaimed from his position behind Tonys shoulder. "Kid, where'd you come from?" the man said, turning around to give him a look.

"Um, my parents?" Tony was confused before he realised what the boy was saying and let out an awkward laugh. "Haha, yeah totally, um so anyway, this is a list of all the things that could go wrong." he tried to change the subject, handing the list over.

"I already read it." Peter said blankly. "Charming." the man muttered. "Anyway, I meant to come and ask if you have any toothpaste. I ran out."
