Tony walked in later that evening with Peter tucked safely under his arm, a blankey drapped over his shoulder. After the night they had had the man prayed the boy would settle down quitely and maybe talk about a few things. Peter walked over to the sofa and sat down tiredly, wiping at his red eyes.
"Friday tell Steve to make 2 hot chocolates." Tony said, heading over to the sofa aswell.
He sat down and smiled softly when Peter crawled under his arm and snuggled into his chest, one of his hands gripping his shirt. He rested a hand in his hair and relief filled him when he felt the boys heartbeat calm down.
A few minutes passed before Steve entered, holding 2 cup of hot chocolate which were filled with whipped cream and marshmallows. Tony smiled gratefully and Peter sat up slightly to grab a cup, "Thanks Steve." he murmed quietly.
"It's no problem son."
The man left and Tony and Peter sat in silence while they drank their hot chocolates.
"So, Bruce said you can sleep in your own room tonight." Tony tried to cheer him up.
Peter just nodded and finished off his drink, settling back down but leaning against the sofa rather than Tony. "Hopefully he finds an antidote." the man murmed,
"And what if he doesn't?" Peter muttered, Tony looking up to meet his eyes.
"If he doesn't find one its all over for me right? I mean sure I have myself but part of myself was Spiderman and...I don't know what I'd do with out it, so many more innocent people could loose their lives because I was stupid enough to-"
"Hey, don't put it that way-" Tony tried to protest.
"What other way can I put it?" Peter raised his voice a little, clenching his fists. "It's like I said before, when you can do things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you. I can't loose something that saves others."
Tony shook his head and pulled him into a hug, closing his eyes and swallowing.
"No, you don't need Spiderman to save people. Because you know what?"
"You saved me by being Peter Parker."
Tony felt the boys body tense and Peter pulled away to look at him.
"I didn't know what responsiblity truly meant before I met you, everything was someone elses job, everything..was something I didn't care about. Except you. When I first met you I couldn't believe how smart and intelligent you were, how you weren't only a 'superhero' not just some kid who wanted fame, no. You were Peter Parker, a kid who wanted to help others, nothing to do with fame or power, just purely for the good of others." He took a moment to swallow away any tears.
"Which is why you saved me. Saved me from becoming a selfish arrogant man just like my Dad, and I'm so proud of you, more proud than I've ever been in my entire life Pete. Because you survived all the things life put you through, you saw the good in people who couldn't see it themselves, including me. And that's why you don't need Spiderman to save people, you save them being Peter Parker."
Peter stared at Tony, tears sparkling in eyes with his mouth opening and closing, speechless. Instead of speaking he just hugged the man, holding on so tightly he thought Tony might not be able to breath properly.
"I l-love you D-dad." he murmed, closing his eyes.
"I love you too kid."

Peter and Tony spent the rest of the evening together, huddled up on the sofa with a thick blanket, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. It was around midnight however, when Bruce rushed into the room, his face filled with the upmost joy.
"I found a cure!" Where the words that came tumbling out his mouth.
