A/N: Hello my lovely people. I hope you do not hate me anymore... I did get you there with chapter 38 haha. Of course my aim with this story is to create a happy version of the events to heal my broken heart, so I could not do it. We're close to the end now as well. As of now, after this one here, I have two more parts planned + an epilogue. Love to all of you <3

Sirius was lying in our bed, looking like he was peacefully asleep. Well, I hoped his sleep was peaceful but I could not tell – he was completely still. I closed the door behind me and it was weird being in here, knowing what had happened, seeing him so vulnerable.

I sat down on the bed beside him and softly ran my hand over his cheek. I saw his chest rising and falling, a barely noticeable movement, but still there. It calmed me to see he really was alive. My thoughts had been racing up until now, but seeing him helped sorting them.

„My love," I mumbled softly, but my voice still sounded far too loud in the quiet of the room.

Sirius looked so calm I almost expected him to wake up as if things were normal, reply to me and give me one of his tired smiles. But of course he didn't.

„You scared me so much," I continued.

It was then that a wave of emotions overcame me as the memories hit me full-force again. It was like a nightmare that incorporated my worst fears. I had to touch Sirius again, make me feel that I was really there, take in the room around me to ground myself. This right here was reality.

Still trying to breathe calmly, I noticed that Sirius had stirred. His forehead was crunched into a frown and a second later I saw him try to blink. Then he groaned lowly. I was transfixed, moved so I was closer to his face and slowly stroke his cheek.

„Hey, my love," I mumbled. „It's okay, take your time."

Again he tried to blink, then swallowed hard and finally, he opened his eyes. My breathing stopped for a moment as he just looked at me, confusion written all over his face.

„Baby, hey," I said. „You're home, it's all fine."

„Ally," he croaked, trying to find his voice again. „Am I... dead?"

„No, you're alive," I said. „We're fine."

He seemed relieved at that. „My whole body is sore."

I was tearing up that, mostly from happiness. „I know, mine too."

„Don't cry. Please."

„I thought I had lost you, Sirius. I'm so relieved."

He coughed, swallowed and then blinked. I gave him some time to adjust, simply took his hand and let my thumb run over his soft skin.

„How's Harry?" he asked after a bit.

„Somewhat okay, he's at Hogwarts with the other kids, we're still in London."

Sirius nodded. „No one is hurt?"

„Well, except for you and some other casualties that will be okay again we got off quite easily. I should go and tell Remus you're awake."

„No, stay for a bit please," he said. „I feel okay. Don't worry."

„I do worry, though."

„I know," he said, still hoarse. „But I really need a kiss."

I laughed out at that. He looked as though he'd been hit by a bus and yet he still was the same old Sirius. I leaned over him and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
