Chapter 20.

*A/N: Thank you all for your patience while I worked to get back on track for this story! I apologize for the delay in finally restarting updates but I'm gaining momentum back now. For those of you that write, or even get actively involved in reading, I'm sure you know it can be hard to detach from a story that you've invested so much time and energy into your characters. It took me a little longer to get back into Dani mode once I restarted but I'm back on track now and I hope you're enjoying the new updates. Noah's POV

The room rang out with acceptance and I reached down to grab Dani's hand. I felt her squeeze it gently and she leaned into me, pride radiating off of her. But I could feel something else. Her heart rate spiked when the female in the back stood up and spoke. I recognized her from the photo in Dani's bedroom. It was her friend Lo.

"Are you ok?" I said through our link.

She nodded and gave me a quick smile before looking back out across the room.

"Now that we've all voted our approval, it's time to begin the ceremony." Eli's voice boomed.

The room became silent, a more serious tone taking hold as Eli turned to me. Dani released my hand and fell slightly behind me as I stepped forward to stop face to face with Eli.

"Noah, do you wish to join the Crescent Pack, accepting it and all of its members as your own?" Eli asked.

I nodded and spoke up, making sure my voice was loud enough to be heard. "I do accept all of Crescent Pack as my own."

Eli nodded and continued. "As the mate to the future Luna of this pack, do you accept the responsibility to earn the role you are inheriting as Crescent's future Alpha?"

I looked out at all of the wolves looking back at me and nodded once before looking back at Dani. I turned back to face Eli and responded. "I accept all that comes with my role as Daniela's mate. I swear to earn the respect and the right to inherit Alpha of this pack. And I swear to do everything within my power to always protect it as fiercely as I would my own life or that of my mate's."

I felt Dani's emotions shifting from anticipation to desire and I tried to hide my smirk as I held Eli's serious gaze. With one slow nod he stepped closer, placing his hand on my shoulder, followed by the other. I bowed my head to prove my submission to him as my Alpha and he grunted lowly in approval.

As he spoke again, his voice changed, dropping lower and taking on the Alpha tone. "Noah, I accept you into my family as a member of the Crescent Pack, and the future heir to the Alpha role beside my daughter. I welcome you with open arms."

As he spoke, each person stepped forward, placing their hands on the person in front of them. Dani's hands wrapped around my shoulder and her father's hand and I stifled a gasp as Selene placed her own on Eli's shoulders as the last person connecting the room to one another. Instantly, I felt it click as the pack link opened up to me and I was instantly connected with each individual person in the room, and my own mind was now open to them. I heard an overwhelming welcome come through the link from the pack before everyone released and began to cheer loudly.

I opened my eyes and saw Selene and Eli smiling back at me. I nodded to each of them. "Thank you for allowing me to join you and to be here with Dani. I won't let you down." I said shaking Eli's hand.

Selene smiled and hugged me before looking back at her daughter, tears filling her eyes. I felt Dani's delicate hand wrap around mine and I turned to see her beaming.
