Chapter 23.

Noah's POV

I looked at Dani and she was smiling proudly up at me. I could feel it radiating off of her as she looked between me and her father.

Eli held his hands up to the crowd and projected his voice as he smiled. "Let us congratulate the new couple and wish them well." His voice boomed.

The entire crowd cheered And jumped to their feet clapping and howling jokingly. Dani and I laughed and I couldn't help but run my arms around her waist and pull her close as her mismatched eyes sparkled with joy.

"God, you're stunning Dani." I thought.

She snaked her arms around my neck and pushed up on her tiptoes to place a deep kiss on my lips. I squeezed her tighter, picking her up and swinging her around as the crowd cheered louder before finally putting her back down on to her bare feet.

"We will all head back to the main lawn where we will continue the party for as long as the night allows!" Eli said loudly with a chuckle. He leaned closer and placed a strong hand on each of our shoulders, pulling us from our haze. "You two take as long as you need. Or don't join at all. We're celebrating you both regardless." He said with a wink before taking Selene's hand and stepping around us to leave.

Dani looked up at me and I brushed a loose hair from her face, stroking her cheek gently as I pulled her close. "Thank you for giving me a chance Dani."

She smiled and replied quietly. "Thank you for choosing me Noah."

I kissed her soft lips slowly and pulled back just slightly, my mouth pulling up into a crooked smirk. "Let's go for a run." I whispered.

She looked back at me questioningly before responding. "A run?"

"Come on. I'll help you." I replied and I saw her mind flash with the presence of her wolf and her eyes widened in realization.

Dani followed beside me, her hand linked in mine as she let me lead her deeper into the forest for more quiet and privacy. I could hear running water nearby and I made a mental note to find the source after our run. She would need it to soothe her aching muscles. She let me pull her around to face me, waiting quietly for me to speak.

"Dani, last time your body forced your shift involuntarily because of the full moon. But you know wolves can shift whenever they want with practice. I'm going to show you how." I said and her brows rose in surprise.

"Noah, I don't think..." she started but I stopped her.

"You can do anything you want. Do you want me to show you how?" I asked, keeping my tone light to make sure she knew there wasn't any pressure.

I could teach her any time, but something in me was urging my wolf to run with hers right now, like we needed it for our renewed bond.

She thought for a moment, her body very still, until she finally looked at me with determination and nodded. "Show me what to do."

I smiled and kissed her palm before releasing her from my hold. "First we need to slip out of these clothes or we'll ruin them."

She smirked and rose a sarcastic brow before turning her back to me. "I need you to unzip me then." Her voice was low and seductive and I felt my heart instantly quicken in pace at her suggestive tone.
