(Purgatory's P.O.V)

I sit patiently as I get bandaged up. Sitting in clothes that belong to a villain feels so strange, but it's better than being naked.

"All done", says Toga.

"Thank you", I say.

"You don't have to be nice to me you know", she says, "I know you don't like us."

"But you showed me a kindness you didn't have to", I say, "So I thank you for that."

"I only did it since you're supposed to join us and we treat each other like family", she says, "Plus I'm tired of being the only girl here."

"So you want me to be part of your 'family', yet I'm being kept blindfolded", I say.

"It's supposed to be for 'our protection'", she says, "Shigaraki's idea, not mine."

"But, if you wanted to", I say, "You could take it off. No one's here to stop you."

"How do I know you won't use your quirk on me once I do", she says.

"You won't", I say, "But if I'm going to become part of your family then you have to trust me, like I trusted you to clean my wounds without taking any of my blood."

"Fine", she says, "But only for a little bit while everyone else is gone."

She moves behind me and starts undoing my blindfold. As she does, I can feel her hands tremble. Even though she's a villain, I also know that she's still a child and I don't want her to be scared of me. At least not right now.

"There", she says as she removes the blindfold.

I blink so that my eyes can get used to the light, "Thank you Toga", I say.

"You're not gonna use your power on me", she asks.

"No", I say as I turn to look at her, "We have to trust each other right?"

She sighs, "Thanks", she says, "I was so afraid you would."

"Toga", I say, "Why are you so scared of my quirk? It's only meant to immobilize people."

"You don't know what else your quirk does", she says, "Do you?"

"I wasn't aware it did anything else", I say.

"From what I heard", she say, "It makes whoever you use it one see what they're afraid of. Like they're worst nightmare."

"Oh", I say, "Well then that explains a lot."

"What do you mean", she asks.

"I don't think you'd want to know", I say.

"I do", she says.

"Well", I start, "This isn't the first time I've been in shackles, blindfolded, and tried to be kept to use as a weapon."

"It's not", she says confused.

"The first time was when my quirk first manifested after watching my father be killed in front of me at 4 years old. I was kept that way until I was rescued at 7 years old", I say, "During that time I was forced to use my quirk and take the lives of people that I didn't even know. When they brought the person I was going to kill, that pets would start screaming 'No, the Santa Muerte no', so I'm guessing that's what they were afraid of."

Toga stays quiet for a moment then says, "Is that why you were so calm when you were captured by us?"

"I guess it is", I say, "Being shackled and blindfolded isn't something new to me."

I watch as Toga stares at me for a moment then does something unexpected. She removes my shackles.

"Toga", I say surprised, "Wouldn't you get in trouble with Shigaraki?"

"I don't care", she says, "I want this world to be free to do whatever I want. How can I do that when I know someone is being held captive."

I think for a second. This is my chance to escape. I could leave and go back to my family. But then I look at Toga and I realize that, if I do leave because she let me go, they could do something awful to her. Even though she's a villain, she's still just a child.

"Toga", I say, "Why don't you leave? What keeps you here?"

"Well, I've never really had a family that cares about me", she says, "And every one always saw me as a freak because of my quirk."

"They used to do the same thing to me", I say, "But that didn't stop me from becoming a hero."

"I don't think it was as bad as your parents sending you to a mental facility because they agreed with what people were saying", she says.

"Well I didn't have parents, remember", I say, "But it was bad enough for someone to want to burn my eyes out because of it."

"Right", she says, "Well you're free now, so you can leave."

"Before I do", I say, "Can you tell me why you all wanted me to join?"

"All I know is that it has to do with that girl that was rescued", she says.

"You all want to use her like he did", I say, "Don't you?"

"Well we'd need to know how he'd do it first", she says, "But yeah."

"Toga what the hell do you think you're doing", yells Shigaraki as he walks in.

"Leave her alone", she says getting in front of me and brandishing her knife.

"She's an essential part to our plan", he yells, "She cannot be allowed to leave!"

"She's gone through this hell before", says Toga, "She deserves to be free."

"I don't want to fight you Toga", he says as he takes the hand that covers his face off, "But I will if I have to."

"Stop", I say getting between both of them and facing Shigaraki with my eyes closed, "I have yet to make my own decision if I want to stay or not, but that doesn't mean that I'll let you hurt her either."

"Then what are you planning to do then hero", he says.

"I'm not planning anything", I say, "You have until tomorrow night to convince me to stay. In the mean time, I do not want to be shackled or have my eyes covered. Mostly because I know Toga wouldn't want me to be. Is that a deal?"

He stays quite for a moment then says, "I don't know what kind of game you're trying to play hero, but fine. If it keeps us from fighting", then leaves the room.

"You'll really stay", says Toga.

"Only until I can decide what I want to do", I say.

"Yay", says Toga as she hugs me, "I have a big sis again!"

I pat her head and say, "At least until tomorrow night."

Hopefully that'll be enough time so Hawks can save me and our child.
