"I cannot believe he threw you out like that" Grace gasps.
It's been over a weeks since I ran out of the Malfoy Manor.
After I ran out I stopped myself, debating to turn around and go back in. I decided to wait to see if he would come out to me, but he never did. I apparated home and cried myself to sleep that night.
We're now on our way back to Hogwarts now. I saw Draco when I was getting on the train, but I refused to make eye contact with him. Grace and I sit alone in the cart. She told Lewis to go sit with Draco and now to say anything.
"It was awful. The worst part is earlier that day Narcissa and I had a really good talk about how she knows Draco struggles with communicating and to be patient with him, but I feel as if he wanted to push me, purposely" I sigh.
"Not that I'm commending anything he did was right. But I do know the way Draco acts around you, I know he cares deeply about you. I don't know why he pushed you away like that, but it has to be for a valid reason" she insists, " his own mother even said he pushes people away"
"I just want to try and avoid him, as much as I can"
I know deep inside me that it won't go as planned
After we get out stuff in our rooms and organized we have our annual first day dinner. I sit at the table and I find myself looking around for Draco.
After the sorting ceremony, the introduction to the new teacher and Dumbledore's speech I see Draco walk in and sit at the end of the table.
Twenty minutes later Grace points out Harry holding a bloody towel to his nose walking in with Luna. I see Draco look at Harry then look down, a guilty expression on his face.
What the fuck.
I see him strand up and leave dinner early. I take a deep breath and push everything that's telling me to go follow him back, and stay at the table.
I walk with Grace and Lewis into the common room chatting away. I see Draco sitting on the leather sofa, staring at the fire. He looks up and stares at me but I look away and follow Grace into the bedroom we share.
Our first day of classes are long. I drag myself from class to class finding I have zero energy. I walk into the potions class and see our new teach, Professor Slugghorn, standing in front of the classroom. I see Hermione and walk over beside her.
"Hey" she smiles at me, I return the gesture.
I zone out as he introduces himself. I see Harry and Ron stumble into class late.
"Oh! There you are Harry my boy. Glad you could join us. Oh you brought a friend with you" Slughorn smiles at him.
"Ron Weasley sir" Ron stands straight. "But I'm bad at potions sir, so I'm probably just gonna.." he tries to walk himself out before Harry turns him right around.
"Non sense, will sort you out. Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine" he smiles. "Pull out your book out and join us"
"We um don't have a books yet sir" Harry says awkwardly.
I laugh to myself quietly as I can feel Hermione roll her eyes beside me, "Idiots" she mumbles under her breath.
"No worries theres some over there on the shelf" he nods towards the book shelf.
I laugh watching the two boys fight over the last two books.
"Now I've brewed a few potions.. can anyone tell me what they are" he asks
