The stands are the most crowded they've been. Students from other schools came to join to see the last task. The loud music plays across as a giant, hedge maze is set in front. The task is to collect the trophy, whoever gets it first wins.
This time, they're all going up against each other. So it's a lot more difficult then the last two tasks. I sit in the front row with Grace on my side as we sing along to the music.
The four competitors walk out on the grass and the crowd goes wild.
Cedric smiles and runs over to me. I lean over and wrap my arms around his shoulders.
"Good luck" I say.
" I don't need luck" he teases.
For some reason I get this sudden wave of anxiety and nerves.
"Be careful? Yeah?" I say on a serious tone.
He smiles reassuringly.
"I will. I'll see you in a bit" he smiles and runs off to stand by Harry.
"Are you okay?" Grace asks me.
"I don't know.. I feel, really nervous for some reason. I don't know why" I frown.
"You're probably just anxious to see if he wins or not" she says putting her arms around my shoulder.
I give her a nod but for some reason. I don't think that's it.
Everyone's chatting around. It's been almost an hour since they left. Fleur and Victor are standing at 4th and 3rd place as they were both the ones to come back. We all wait anxiously for the arrival of Harry and Cedric. To see who wins the cup.
I wasn't paying attention when the crowd erupts into cheers. Grace nudges me as I see Harry with the cup I his hands. I jump around cheering with everyone else. Harry won!
Wait wheres Cedric.
A loud, high pitched scream followed by a sob comes from Fleurs mouth. The music slowly starts to stop as I realize why Fleur screamed.
"He killed him. Voldemort he's back. He killed him" Harry screams and sobs.
The noise from the crowd is now just a soft buzz. I feel arms grasp me before I push them away. I shove everyone out of my way and then everythings a blur. I run over across the grass and stand above Harry.
Laying underneath him is Cedrics lifeless body.
"My boy! That's my boy!" I hear his father yell from the stands. Suddenly the sound of the crowd is back.
But I stand there paralyzed.
As if I'm in slow motion my knees drop to the ground. A loud scream and sob leaves my mouth.
I grab Cedrics shoulders and shake him.
"Cedric wake up. Cedric please" I say with tears flowing down my face.
I feel Harry's hands rest on top of mine. I look over and see his tear stained cheek and the look of horror on his face. I look back down and see the beautiful boys brown eyes look at me dull.
Suddenly I'm being pulled away away as I kick and scream, sobbing. I look up and I see Professor McGonagall and Hagrid pulling me away from the scene as I lash and turn as screams leave my mouth.
I get pulled away out of the tent and the slow motion stops.
"Stella" I see a silhouette of Grace and Lewis running towards me. I scream and I sob still slashing around in Hagrid's arms. He lets me go and I fall into Graces arms as she holds me up as I sob.
"Shhh shhhh" she hushes in my ear. Her cracked voice tells me she's been crying.
I lay in her arms sobbing for what feels like hours, when reality it's only been minutes.
"You need to take her into the castle, the poor girl can't be around to see his body being moved" McGonagall says in the back.
I get pulled out of Graces arms and I see Lewis as he reaches up and scoops me in his arms. Grace, Blaise and Pansy follow behind as they carry me to the common room.
He sets me on the couch. I feel like as if the breath from me has been ripped out of my lungs.
I hear talking and quiet sobs from behind me.
I sit and stare at the burning fire place in front of me. As if I had nothing left to cry.
I stare at the fire place for hours. I don't move.
It got to the point where McGonagall had to come into the room to try to get me to say something to say anything. But I didn't. I just sat and stared at the fire.
I finally feel my eyes get heavy and droop. My friends take shifts throughout the night on the couch beside me. The last person there when I close my eyes was Grace.
