I walk down the halls with Grace on my side. She hasn't really left it since we've arrived at Hogwarts last week.
It's weird being here. It's hard too. I feel a bit guilty being here honestly.
We have a new teacher this year, Dolores Umbridge. I absolutely hate her.
She's cruel, she's rude and she wears way to much pink for my liking.
"I'll wait for you after class, okay?" Grace says as she drops me off at Umbridge's class.
"You don't have to baby me Grace, I'm okay" I laugh
"Too bad. I'll be here after the bell" she says waving goodbye.
I walk into class and see an empty seat beside Draco.
We haven't really talked since I saw him at the pub but I think we're on good terms?
"Hey can I sit?" I say walking over.
"Uh yeah sure" he says moving his books out of the way so I can sit.
"How was your summer?" I start conversation
"Fine. Yours" he says dryly.
"It was actually okay. I saw a lot of my friends over the holidays and my aunt came to see me" I say.
He doesn't respond he just nods and looks up copying notes. I frown a bit, I was hoping that after last year we would be in better terms, but I guess not.
I walk out of class with Draco behind and see Grace and Lewis leaning into the stone wall.
"How was class?" Lewis says, throwing his arm over Dracos shoulders.
"Dreadful" he rolls his eyes
"Yeah Umbridge is definitely not my favourite" I say in a clearly annoyed voice.
We walk to the common room before dinner.
"What's up with Draco?" I ask Grace. "He's been so dry to me"
"Really? He hasn't shut up with me today. Wanna trade places" Grace giggles
I laugh with her but wonder why he has completely ignored me.
We walk to the great hall for dinner. I go to sit beside Pansy and across from Draco. He's talking to Blaise and Goyle, I don't think he realizes I'm there since he is literally talking about me.
"... back to her know it all self. I'd rather get my leg chewed off then sit with her all year. She's awfully annoying" he says.
Blaise turns and looks at me as I sit down. His eyes go wide and I see Draco turn to look at me.
"I'll make sure to avoid sitting with you tomorrow then" I snap at Draco and turn to Pansy.
I can feel his eyes on me but I don't look at him.

Dracos POV
I sit at the dinning hall with Blaise and Goyle.
"Stella looks pretty good, I mean for what happened. Glad she's taking care of herself" Blaise says out of the blue.
Him and Goyle go on about Stella, "why are you so quiet Malfoy?" Blaise asks
"I don't have anything to say about her" I snap at him.
"Shut up Malfoy. You act as if you hate the girls guts. I'm pretty sure you were shitting yourself when she went into shock last year. "Someone needs to check on Stella, I'll watch Stella tonight" like come on Mate" Blaise mocks
"Yeah well everyone was worried. Now she's fine and she's gonna go back to her know it all self. Man I'd rather get my leg chewed off then sit with her all year. She's awfully annoying" I huff.
I don't mean it at all. I don't know why I get all defensive when ever someone suggests the fact I care about Stella, because I don't. Well I don't care about her as much they think I do.
Do I?
I see Blaise turn and his eyes go wide. I turn and see a very angry Stella drop across from me. She heard what I said.
"I'll make sure to avoid sitting with you tomorrow" she snaps and then turns to talk to Pansy.
I stare at her, trying to get her to look at me but she doesn't budge.
Dinner is long and awkward. Pansy talks to her about her summer and I listen along.
I follow behind everyone as they walk into the common room.
"Stella, can we talk?" I say grabbing her sleeve.
"What do you want?" She turns and pulls her arm away.
"Well I um" I start to say. " I just wanted to say I'm glad you're feeling better after last year, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna act different around you"
Yeah that sounds good, I can't let her think that I'm gonna be like how everyone else is treating on her now.
"Oh trust me" she starts to laugh. " I don't expect that from you. You really think I want your pity? I have enough of it and I don't need you to be fake and act as if you suddenly give a shit about me, because I know you don't. So stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours" sh snarls before turning and marching into the common room.
"But I don't want to stay out of your way" I mumble under my breath as she closed the door in my face.
