4 Hours Ago:
Edric was sitting on the floor, King sprawled in front of him. The demon enjoying his daily belly rubs was starting to drift into a deep slumber. Edric's hands brushed against the soft fur of the creature.
"He's cute." Emira said with a smile.
"Yeah, he sure looks peaceful huh?"
Emira sat down beside her brother, her fingers brushing against the demon. King fell asleep being pet gently by the twins. The warmth of his body melting the hearts of the twins. But even then the air was heavy, neither twin wanted to address what they had just seen.
"Amity definitely.." Emira began
"Yeah." Was the quiet reply from Edric.
"Mother would never.."
"Accept it?"
The twins sat in silence, king's soft snores echoed in the room.
Edric's phone rang, the melody bouncing off the walls. King raised his head, but was ushered back to sleep by Emira.
"Edric, why isn't Amity with you?" The harsh voice of Chadrick filled the room. As he glared across the screen, the video call couldn't contain his anger.
'How did he know?' Edric mouthed to Emira off screen.
Emira's eye twitched once before she turned to address their father. "Did you need her?"
Edric could hear his father's sharp breathing. He could see his father's angry eyes, could almost feel his hand gripping down on Edric's shoulder.
"You have 3 hours. Go find your sister" Said the voice.
"And if we don't?" Edric asked, careful to keep his voice steady.
"Then your mother and I will find her ourselves. And you will be punished for your incompetence."
The threat hung in the air, as if Chadrick knew his daughter was with someone he didn't approve of. Like he knew that the twins would fail.
Edric and Emira shared a look, both understood what they had to do.
"Right away father" Emira said coldly. Just like that, the call ended.
The twins called Amity,
"C'mon pick up" Edric said out loud. From downstairs the twins heard Amity's phone ringing.
"@&$*" Emira said angrily. Fine they would have to do this the hard way.
Edric took set his phone timer. 3 hours. They had to find her, before they ran out of time. Or their Father would punish them severely.
The distance between them was far.
