The Vault

The twins lead the quad down the hall, past the main staircase. Then they cut into a closet sized hallway, down some dimly lit stairs and into the back entrance of the library.

"Is there a secret book case entrance?!" Luz asked excitedly as she began pulling books from the shelf.

"No." Emira replied as she pushed past Luz and towards a carpet.

"Secret entrance under the carpet?!" Gus asked running ahead and excitedly pulling the carpet back.

"Still no." Edric said walking past the carpet.

"I know! Its behind the family portrait!" Boscha said trying to be right for once.

"No! Why would you-- Never mind." Emira said annoyed as she ignored the family portrait.

"Then where is the secret entrance?!" Luz cried.

"Maybe behind the door that says 'there is no secret entrance here.'" Willow said gesturing to the closet door.

"About time." Edric said as he pulled the door open. The heavy oak, creaked against its hinges. The door revealed a dark hallway, lit with old candles. It had a musty smell to it. Luz silently thanked God that she didn't have asthma. Because that hallway is not asthma friendly.

"So.. Whos first?" Boscha asked hesitantly.

"I'm too cute to die first!" Gus yelled as he hid behind Edric.

"Agreed." Edric said, hiding behind Emira.

Emira nudged Luz forward. "We are doing this for your girlfriend."

Luz pushed Emira forward. "Yeah, your Sister."

Boscha nervously stood behind Luz, unsure if she should say something.

"Fine I'll go first!" Willow said pushing past everyone. "Can we just save Amity? My arms are getting tired!"

Everyone followed behind Willow, single file. Like school children.

"Why were you guys scared? You live here." Boscha asked from the end of the line.

"We've only come here when we were with our parents. It's weird being here without them." Emira replied.

"If your so brave why don't you go to the front?" Gus said from in front of the demon.

"I'm back here in case we get jumped from behind." Boscha replied back puffing out her chest.

The narrow hallway opened up. Now the squad was in a large open room. Decorated with knights. Each statue held a sword of different size and shape. The glittering weapons reflecting light. The knights armor were of various designs. The metal plates each a lavish purple with hints of gold sprinkled through.

"If you touch the knights, the security system goes off. So no touchy." Emira said to the group.

Luz was about to poke a knight but stopped short. Gus grabbing her hand and pulling her away.

Edric and Emira headed to the back of the room. Where a large safe was built into the wall.

The twins nodded to each other, then placed one hand onto the safes center. Inside the safe the lock clicked. And the door began to open.

"What are you doing?" Alador asked. His gruff voice cut through the air.

"We are saving Amity." Luz said, reaching for the glyphs in her pocket. The squad prepared for battle. Willow gently placed Amity on the ground. The brown haired girl was slumped over, still smiling. Her eyes glowing faintly, the glow fading and returning in tune with her heart beat.
