"No." Emira whispered.
"This can't be happening." Edric said with a shaky voice.
"Yeah, the readers voted on a happy ending!" Emira yelled shaking her fist at the author.
"How dare you, fix this now!" Edric cried.
"No." Said the Author in a super meta joke.
Emira whipped out her phone and wrote a complaint against the author and posted it on twitter.
"Stop that! You will get me cancelled!" The Author yelled.
"There's more where that came from, UNLESS you fix the ending!" Edric yelled at the sky. Threating to hit the retweet button on his scroll.
Alador watched his children typing on their scrolls and yelling at the ceiling.
'Maybe I should have kept Amity alive, at least she was only crazy in love and not crazy crazy.' He thought to himself. His golden eyes glowing faintly.
Eventually Emira got tired of waiting for the Author to reply and instead hacked into Catbear03's Wattpad account. She clicked the story 'distance' and began typing away...
As Amity lunged forward to shove the mirror in Alador's face, she stumbled BUT managed to regain her footing. She forced the mirror into her fathers face. Desperate to free him from whatever demon was holding him.
Alador looked into the mirror. He saw himself, his younger self staring back. He was 10 years old again. Meeting Odalia for the first time, his brown eyes were filled with a childish light. 'Brown?' Alador thought to himself. The person changed, Now Alador was 16. He had just defeated Grom, Odalia wrapped around his arm. His golden brown eyes stared confidently back at him, the light was dimming. By the time Alador was 25 years old. Odalia had a ring on her finger and Alador's eyes were golden. They no longer held any light. At 28 years old, Alador's eyes glowed in the dark. Fading in perfect harmony with Odalia. The younger Odalia smiled at him, then placed a finger on her mouth.
"Shhh." She whispered. The image was darker now, twisted. Alador blinked slowly, the pieces connecting in his mind. 'Why hadn't he noticed his eyes had changed color? Why hadn't he noticed that Odalia had done something to him?' He stumbled back, Alador held his head in his hands. Unsure what was going on. He looked up, he saw his children. His precious, wonderful, beautiful children staring back at him. Their eyes filled with fear. Their friends gave off a frosty aura as they stared back with hate in their eyes. Alador reached his hand forward. Trying to hold onto something, anything. But his children backed away. A human, Luz the human stepped in front of Amity. As if to protect her from him, why would she need to protect a girl from her father?
"Oh." Alador whispered as the memories came flooding back. The yelling, the hitting, the bubble, the memory manipulation, the erasure of his own Childs individuality. Everything came in waves. Waves of guilt and shame. Waves of sorrow on all the missed years and opportunity's. Alador's eyes flickered, his vision blurred. His memories were hazy, like they had been changed and twisted in order to fulfill someone else's agenda.
Alador looked at his children, "I'm so sorry." He said as his mind cleared. The haze was fully gone now. "I'm SO sorry." His voice was a whisper now, bitter tears streaming down his face. He had failed as a father, whether it was his fault or if he liked it. He had failed. His children feared him. He broke down. Alador cursed himself under his breath. He cursed Odalia for doing this to him. For turning him into a monster. "I'm sorry."
Edric, Emira and Amity shared an uneasy glance. They had never seen this before. Never seen real emotions on their father's face. His golden-brown eyes were filled with tears as he struggled to calm himself. Together Alador's children stepped forward and pulled him into a hug. He gently hugged back, letting their warmth spread to him. Alador's golden eyes melted to a light brown, his eyes beginning to return to its natural color. The distance was gone, the family would heal. But first...
