Chapter 4

"LITTLE BRO!! ARE YOU OKAY!?!" yelled Bolin as he walked in.

Kai jumped up and was caught by Korra before he fell off the hospital bed. Korra set him back down before glaring at Bolin.

"Bo! We're in a hospital you knucklehead and Kai was sleeping," lectured Korra but in a whisper.

"Sorry but I'm just worried," he responded, rubbing the nape of his neck.

The Beifong twins and Mako walked in shortly after. All asking how Kai was doing, who did it, if Kai wanted them to beat them up for him, which Kai said no too, and why it happened. Kai and Korra gave answers as they asked. Once they finished asking questions and cooled off from hearing what happened they made small chit chat. Then Kai realized they were missing two girls in the group.

"Where's Jiji? And Opal?" Kai asked Mako next to him.

"Opal went to go pick up Jinora once she dropped us off," Mako responded, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder," They'll be here soon."

Kai nodded his head and turned to talk with Korra who was still sitting next to him. He tapped her shoulder and she quickly answered. Kai smiled and asked for some water and Jello. She nodded in response and got up to get what he wanted as Asami took place at Kai's side. She smiled at him which he gladly returned before she pulled him into a tight hug.

'You scared me little brother' Asami whispered as she hugged him.

Kai hugged her back then said,'Sorry sis. Won't happen again. I promise.'

She let go with a smile before lightly hitting his chin making him laugh. Then they heard the door open. Korra had come back with the Jello and a cup of water. He gladly took the food and water. Korra stood next to Asami letting her sit as Kai started eating his jello with a smile. Not seconds later the door opened again and in walked Opal than Jinora. Jinora stood near the door as her and Kai locked eyes as he was eating. He was sucking Jello up from his spoon but choked when he saw Jinora.

He started coughing, Jinora rushed to his side, Asami rushed to give him water as Korra smacked her hand to her forehead laughing which got her hit in the arm from her girlfriend. Korra stopped a few seconds later before looking at Kai to play it off before she took Asami's hand leading to the rest of the group. Korra quietly told the Krew that she wanted them to have a moment together so to just not look over and continue talking which they all agreed.

Kai finished his water before turning to Jinora who was looking at him with some concern on her face.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Ye-" *clear throat* "yeah sorry caught a glimpse of an angel" he responded, smiling at her and catching a blush on her face.

Kai moved over, patting the bed asking Jinora to sit down. She sat down and looked down at her hands in her lap, fiddling with her fingers. She didn't know why but she couldn't face Kai without wanting to cry. Kai slipped his hand into Jinora's squeezing it in reassurance when she looked at him.

"I'm okay, Ji. I promise," Kai said with a smile.

Jinora turned, hugged him with half her body on Kai, face against his chest and hands gripping his hospital outfit before mumbling,"You scared me."

Kai wrapped his good arm around Jinora saying,"I know, I'm sorry babe" then froze after hearing what came out of his mouth.

Jinora's face went red after hearing what Kai said and pressed her face closer to his chest to try and cover her blush.

'He called me babe! OMG OMG OMG!' Jinora thought, fangirling.

'I just called her babe for the first time!?' Kai thought lowkey freaking out.
