Next Day @ the South
"So where's this kid?" Korra asked as she walked with Katara and Kai to their personal training room.
"She's probably out hiding in a tree or playing with the penguins in the back." Katara responded as she took her keys out and went to unlock the training room.
"Well look who it is! Back from the dead I see." spoke someone sarcastically behind Korra making her turn around.
"Ahnah...I see you're still a danger to yourself," teased Korra with a smirk as Kai and Katara went into the room.
Ahnah chuckled as she went closer to the young woman. "You're talking. What happened here?" She asked, pointing sarcastically to the arm in a sling.
"Unlike you, I was protecting my girlfriend from getting mugged and maybe worse," Korra responded with a smug smirk.
Ahnah replied in shock, "Is that so..."
Korra nodded her head and was going to respond when Kai called for her to start her training. She saluted a goodbye to Ahnah before walking inside and closing the door behind her. Kai was waiting for his cast to be sawed off as Katara waited patiently by a cable triceps bar and chest press machines with a shoulder brace in hand. Korra made her way to her trainer nervously letting out a breath as she stood in front of the elder.
"You'll be okay, Korra. Don't worry." Katara said as reassuring as possible while putting the shoulder brace in place.
"Still doesn't stop the fact that I got hurt and need to be here....not that it's bad to be here! I just don't want to be..no that didn't come out right!.." Korra stammered out not having any control on what was coming out of her mouth at the moment.
Katara laughed sweetly as she interrupted the girl, "I know what you mean dear. But this is the best and fastest way for you to go back home. Don't you agree?"
"...yeah..." Korra mumbled as she grabbed onto the bar of the tricep cable bar. She looked down to see the set weight and saw it only at 60 when she would usually be doing 180-225.
Katara noticed the stare Korra was giving down at the set weight and placed a hand to her back. "It's only temporary, I plan to have you as close to the regular weight these next 2 weeks and trust me...this is going to seem a lot heavier than it looks." She said.
"If you say so..." Korra said getting ready to make the first pull. "Ahh shit!"
"She told you it was going to be heavy!" Kai teased from his chair waiting for his trainer to come back.
Korra turned to him with an annoyed pout. "You, shut it."
"Just relax and take it slow. It's just the first day." Katara said with a smile.
This went on for an hour with Korra slowly pulling down on the bar to lift the weight and sometimes going down to 60 or 40 pounds to relax her shoulder. The young woman did about 50 of them before stopping to rest for 10 mins and going again. As Korra did her physical therapy/training, Kai was with his doctor who informed him that his bones were healing properly and the healing he has planned for the young gentlemen will help the process go faster. They went over the set plan for the next 2 weeks and he could leave with a new brace they had acquired from their business partners of Future Industries.
"Wait I know the CEO and future CEO of that company!" Kai chimed in excitement.
His doctor looked at him with a smile. "You know Hiroshi and Asami Sato? How's that?"
"Asami is dating Korra," *points to the woman training* Kai said matter factly.
"So that rumor is actually true?"
