Asami's POV
"Korra's in trouble."
The words rang in my head like a song stuck on repeat as I kept Adora from falling over. Her marking glowed brightly that I had to pull her black hood over her head to keep it from attracting unwanted eyes. After a few minutes, I forced myself to gather myself and help Adora back to the office.
I quickly paid for the meal and carried Adora back to the passenger seat of her car, taking her keys from her pocket. Getting into the driver's seat, I started the car and began to make my way back to HQ. Midway, I heard Adora mumble something but could only catch the ending.
I glanced at her. "What, Adora?"
"N-not H-HQ...K-k-korra's..." she repeated.
Debating it for a few seconds, I decided to go along with her request and changed directions back to my girl's house. I've been meaning to visit for a few days now but haven't had the time because of work. I pulled up to their driveway a few minutes later and honked the horn three times to get the family's attention.
"We're here Adora." I say while quickly getting out and rushing to her side to get her out.
"What's going on?" I hear behind me, quickly glancing behind me to see Kai. "Let's get her inside." he announced once he got a look at Adora.
We got inside and laid our friend on the couch as Korra's parents and the twins came out in concern. Kai left looking to be on the phone as Senna and I went to the kitchen to get some cold water and ice packs. Placing them on Adora's forehead, back of her neck and her chest.
"Catra's on her way, Adora." Kai announced when he came back into the room.
Minutes later the door is knocked on vigorously and Boni opens it to a very concerned girlfriend. Catra moved straight to Adora who was still burning up and in pain from her marking on the back of her neck.
"Baby! What happened?" She asked, cradling her girlfriend before turning to me with anger. "What did you do!? She was fine before she met you at that diner!" she exclaimed.
"I didn't do anything!?" before I could explain she yelled at me again.
"Bullshit!"
"Stop." we hear immediately turning our attention to Adora. "Asa-Sami didn't do a-any..thing...wrong." Adora gasped with a pained look on her face.
"Adora, what happened...Last time you were like this-..." Catra started before cutting herself off and turned to me in sorrow. "Korra's in trouble..."
Adora groaned and sat up holding her head with Catra holding her up right. I could see her marking flickering before going back to normal. The blond let out a sigh in relief before giving her girlfriend a small smile.
"Twins." She called getting them to come over. "Go to HQ. Tell Cap it's time."
Without a word exchanged they went out the front door in seconds. "Korra is in pain...I can't tell what type but it's strong. Most likely physical with how fast it happened while I was talking to her."
"So what do we do?" I ask, worry no doubt spilling from my vocal cords.
Adora's face fell indicating something bad or there wasn't anything we could do. I'd rather not go for the latter. The blond was about to speak when I saw her neck glow again making her double over.
"K-Korra?" she mumbled. "Korra wait!"
Catra moved in front of Adora and cupped her cheeks to get a good look at our friend in pain. "What happened?"
