"You excited?" Korra asked as she patted Asami's thigh as she drove to their destination.
Asami looked at Korra with a smile. "I can't wait! How did you even get these tickets?"
"Connections who happened to be in town. Thought you'd have fun and decided to take them up on their offer."
"Offer? You had to do something for them to get these?" Asami asked in concern.
Korra glanced at Asami and just smiled and gave a squeeze to her thigh. "It's nothing bad. Just need to do a training session for some kids in Spring for a day or two in the South. You can come with me if you want, it's during our Spring break."
"I'd love to! I can see those penguin's you raised." Asami exclaimed with a smile.
Korra chuckled at the response, keeping her eyes on the road and rubbing her thumb against Asami's hand who slipped into hers as they were talking. Smiles not leaving their face in a comfortable silence and music playing in the background until they pulled up into the stadium.
!Welcome to NASCAR Race Night! A speaker boomed as the couple walked up to a side gate led by Korra with the tickets in hand.
"Korra!" chimed someone from behind the couple as they got closer to the side gate.
They turned round and Korra spoke with a smile. "Suya!"
"You're just in time," She said, giving Korra a hug and turning to the tall raven next to the athlete. "This must be the special girlfriend. I'm Suya, a good friend of Korra here!" She says nicely sticking a hand out for a hand shake.
Asami took it sweetly. "Nice to meet you, I'm Asami. So how exactly do you know each other, if you don't mind me asking." She said before giving a questionable look to her girlfriend once letting go of Suya's hand.
Korra smiled and slid her hand into Asami's and said, "She was my recruiter and trainer in the South. Kicked my ass a bunch of times."
"Still can kick your ass little one. Now come on, your seats are waiting." Suya chimed as she opened the side gate.
Korra thanked Suya again before pulling Asami with her. They made their way to the race track with works running past them in every direction but Korra kept walking like it was nothing knowingly getting confused by her girlfriend. She got to the end where a team was preparing a race car but with no driver. Korra let go of Asami's hand and pulled out their tickets and handed them to the head worker with a headset on. After looking them over he nodded his head with a smile and took his head set off handing it to Korra. She thanked him and started putting it on when Asami finally spoke.
"Korra what's going on?"
Korra smiled. "We're racing, love. Read the third ticket closely." She responded as she handed the tickets to Asami.
The young woman read it again closely before her eyes shot wide open and looked at Korra in shock who had a suit in her hands. "Really!? -I'm- racing...in that!" Asami chimed in excitement.
"Surprise! Now are you going to put this on or what? I don't plan on letting you lose this race by not even getting into the car itself!" exclaimed Korra as she handed her girlfriend the race suit.
Asami happily slipped on the race suit and grabbed the helmet on a mechanic cart next to the car she would be racing in. She stared at it in awe and a big smile on her face when she put the helmet on, adjusting to her own comfort. After a few seconds she hears Korra's voice on the intercom in her helmet. Letting her know she'd be her eyes on the road to let her know if she would be past or safe to make a pass.
