My Firelord Boyfriend - Zukka

part 5

Zuko's POV-

"When did you start liking sparky?" I stopped dead in the hallway knowing Toph meant me I couldnt stop myself so I decided to listen in "What do you mean we're just friends." I dont know why him saying that made me kind of upset. "That's not what your heartrate says whenever your near eachother your heartrate goes way up." 'Was that true? Did Sokka like me?' "Well it doesn't matter anyway because he's straight so it not important how I feel about him." Does that mean he likes me? Also I'm definitely not straight. I needed to pack so I walked up grabbed my things and met with Aang. We said our goodbyes and left on the byson named Appa. On the way all I could think about Is what Sokka was saying. First he said we were just friends then he hinted about liking me. When we get back I'm going to try and tell him I'm bi subtlety so he doesnt know I was listening.

Time skip

We were on our way back to the temple my firebending was twice as powerful as before. I talked to Aang to fill the awkward silence "Thank you for taking me here Zuko. I think it really helped me understand firebending more." Aang said as he steered Appa. "Its the least I could do." I decided to take a nap since it was a very long day. I woke up to Sokka's voice in my ear he was carrying me I faintly heard him say "I'm going to take him to his room and let him sleep." I didnt open my eyes instead I just enjoyed his arms around me holding me bridal style. I could feel his heartbeat and Toph was right his heart rate was going up. I slightly snuggled into his arms then I felt him put me down on my soft bed tuck me in and kiss my cheek. I normally wouldn't have thought anything of it but after hearing him earlier I couldnt help but hope as I felt myself drift asleep again.

Sokka's POV-

Aang and Zuko just got back I said hi to Aang then he told me to be quiet and Zuko was sleeping I knew he would sleep through the night now and he shouldn't have to be on Appa all night. So I picked him up and started walking to his room "What are you doing?" Aang asked "I'm taking him to his room so he can sleep." Aang nodded and I kept walking holding the boy close in my arms. I felt him move a little but I didnt really think of it. We got to his room and I almost dropped him because i needed to open the door so I had to hold him with one arm. He was surprisingly light. I put him in his bed tucked him in and placed a kiss on his cheek. His skin was so soft, I saw a little smile come on his face and I figured he was kind of awake but probably wouldn't remember this. I went back to the living area with Toph, she whispered to me "I saw that." I knew she meant she felt the vibrations. I blushed furiously and started to eat dinner. Once I was done I went to sleep thinking of the soft kiss I gave Zuko. That was the second small kiss I had given to his face the first was when I was consoling him to make him feel better, but this was different.

I woke up and got out of bed I went to the space where Aang trained to watch but instead I saw a much better sight, shirtless Zuko shooting fire from his finger tips I couldnt help but stare at his abs I was so focused on his shirtless body I didnt notice him talking to me "Sokka?" "Huh? Sorry what's up." I said falling out of my trance "I was just training then noticed you starring at me." Zuko said with a light chuckle "Oh spirits I'm so sorry I was spacing out!" I was almost yelling and felt an embarrassed blush run over my face "It's okay I'm used to stares." He said running his finger over his burn as he sat next to me "That's not what I was starring at, believe me." I said thinking of his chiseled abs not wanting to keep creeping him out. "Oh really then what were you starring at?" He said with a smirk while moving closer and closer till there was barely any room between us. I feel my cheeks turn a dark shade of pink. I could feel Zuko's warmth radiating off of him as I drew closer and closer to him. I snapped back to reality and said "Um I wasnt starring at a-anything." I said unable to speak correctly "Ok if you says so." He said pulling his shirt on. "I'm gonna go for a swim see you later." I said trying to sound normal "Do you want some company?" Zuko asked. Hanging out with Zuko sounded fun "Sure meet me at the lake in 10 minutes." "See you there." He said with a smile I went to my room changed into some blue shorts, grabbed a towel, and left to go to the lake. I got in the water and swam a little waiting for Zuko. I was floating on my back with Momo Aangs lemur when I saw Zuko who was wearing  similar clothes to me "Hey come on in!" I yelled Zuko jumped in and we both started laughing. We were both laying on our backs just floating and I noticed Zukos eyes were closed so I got off my back and started splashing him and then we were just talking and splashing in the water for what felt like hours. "We should probably get back we look like my gran gran." I said chucking as I got up and sat in the grass with my towel wrapped around me Zuko sat next to me patting off and putting his towel around his shoulders. The wind started picking us and I couldnt help but shiver a little then I saw Zuko slide closer and make an opening for me in his towel I slid in and wrapped my arm around his waste and put my head on his shoulder as he held me with his towel around us he laid his head on mine relaxing. I had drifted to sleep while in the other boys arms I had a great time hanging out with him and the warm embrace just made it better. I heard a whisper in my ear "Sokka come on we have to go." Zukos voice was soft and gentle as his breath tickled my ear "huh?" I responded still mostly asleep "Come on Aang needs us." "I dont want you to leave me." I said accidentally still meaning it though "I dont want to get up either but we have to." Zuko started standing up still holding me in his arms. I got up and let out a big yawn. Zuko had grabbed our towels and now we were walking back to the temple. As soon as he let go my body was craving his warmth and gentle touch. I never wanted to stop cuddling with him but we had to stop it was all I could do to not jump onto Zuko and kiss him passionately. I was soon pulled from my fantasies by the very boy they were about "Sokka are you okay you look upset?" "Oh sorry I'm fine just a little lost in thought." I smiled as I responded. Zuko put a gentle hand on my shoulder. He was always so warm I assumed it was fire bender thing but I wasnt sure I've never interacted with fire benders how I interact with Zuko. We're kind of intimate for just being friends I would think he was in to me if he wasn't straight but he was. "Zuko where are we going? you never told me." I said as we walked past the temple where I had assumed we were going "It's a surprise you'll see when we get there." Zuko said back with a smirk
'I wonder what he's planning?' I thought but I didnt have to wonder much longer "We're here!" Zuko said as we approached a flower field that looked almost identical to the one from my dream the other night. He grabbed my hand and took me towards a blanket laying in a bare patch in the field. We sat down next to each other "I wish you would have told me I would've brought a shirt. I said chuckling pulling my towel around my shoulders. "Well I planned on us coming here but I didnt know we were gonna go swimming." He said while grabbing the blanket from a picnic basket and replacing my towel with it. "This is really cool Zuko, you know I actually had a dream we were here." I said watching the sunset "Really what was it about?" He looked at me with curiosity in his eyes "Well we were laying in a field of flowers like this one and..." I stopped not wanting to embarrass myself "The rest is kind of boring." I lied "Well I'm interested in hearing about it." Zuko looked so innocent he was so different "It was nothing." I said. I didnt want to make him uncomfortable by saying I had a dream about us kissing and cuddling in a flower field. "Well okay." Zuko said. With a sad expression. We just sat there for hours watching the stars we were almost on top of eachother we were so close. I felt so at peace right then.

Zukos POV-

Me and Sokka were laying down watching the stars I wanted so badly to pull him closer to me but he did it himself. I felt him creeping towards me and I moved my hand closer to his, our hands touched he looked shocked but started moving his hand too and soon were we holding hands as we watched the sky "Sokka?" I asked "What's up?" he said turning towards me "Well I was wondering what happened to the rest of your invasion force?" Sokka stiffened and let go of my hand as we both sat up "Th-they were c-captured. When the plan failed they told us to escape and they surrendered that's why we came here." Sokka looked upset as he said it but I wanted to help "My father was also captured" he added  "Wait your dad was captured?" I said with surprise on my face "Ya he mostly led the invasion." "Sokka I think I might know where he is." I said I wasnt sure what Sokka would get out of this information but I knew it would offer something. "Wait really?!" "Where is he!" He said excitedly "If he was the leader he would have most likely been sentenced to the boiling rock, the highest security prison in the fire nation." I said laying back down "We have to go break him out!" "Sokka are you out of your mind it's in the middle of a boiling lake!" I responded stunned by his words. He soon said "I know it's crazy but it's my fault my dad is even in there I have to get him out." Sokka sounded so mature and brave I couldn't say no to the baby blue eyes "Fine but if your going I am too." Sokka lit up with joy "Thank you so much he said giving me a hug, then he placed a kiss on my right cheek in gratitude. I felt my cheeks warm up and I could only assume they were as red as strawberries. Sokka noticed and laughed a little then I said "Go get your stuff we'll take a few days so we should leave tonight." I said gathering our thing's "Can u hold this? I cant see and I need a hand for fire." "Thank you Zuko I really hope we can get him." he said grabbing the items from my hands. I thought this was a terrible idea but I knew it would make Sokka happy and maybe Katara would hate me less. We walked to the temple as my flame lit the path 'this place really is beautiful' I thought knowing this would be one of my last peaceful moments for a few days. We got to the temple and packed our stuff I wrote a note saying we were going to go fishing and would be back in a few days. We got on my war balloon knowing Appa would be to obvious. We were flying as I continued to light the coals. There was an unbearable silence between us until Sokka started a conversation "I think it's really amazing of you to leave the fire nation to join us." " It wasn't that difficult of a decision." I responded throwing a punch of fire at the coals "Really you didn't have anyone you cared about?" He asked a little surprised "Well I had a girlfriend, Mai." I said with a gentle sigh "Oh ya she tried to kill me once." Sokka said with a little laugh "Its not surprising. What about you do you have any exes?" Sokka suddenly got really quiet and stiff I could tell I hit a nerve. "Ya but she passed and became the moon spirit when Zhao had killed it." Sokka said tears in his eyes as he looked toward the full moon "That's rough buddy." I said having to idea what to say "You should get some sleep I'll keep us stable." I said trying to help the awkward situation "Okay I'll sleep for a while and then we'll switch okay?" He said as he sat down I nodded knowing I wouldn't wake him up plus he has nothing to keep the coals lit with. Sokka leaned his head against my bag and fell asleep I couldnt help but watch him in his peaceful state.
