Chapter 13

[ Naruto POV ]

The Chunin Exam, the test were a gening can become a chunin. I was walking to the academy entrance. I was still wearing the so called, kill me jumpsuit.
'So Kit'
"Yeah Kurama"
'Why did you transform your clothes into the kill me jumpsuit'
"Why not"
'Sometimes your really confusing'
I stoped at the entrance and started looking out for the other members of Team 7. After everyone on this team turns seventeen, this mission will be complete. I looked around again and spotted my teammates coming closer.

Inside the building we supposedly got to the third floor. I kept walking up one more flight of stairs reaching to the true third floor but my teammates walked to the door. I sighed,
"Can you hurry this up"
Sasuke and Sakura look up at me while I sat on the staircase going up. They looked back at the door explained to everyone that it was a genjutsu and started walking towards the staircase I was sitting on. They stepped onto the stairs, I stood up, and all of us walked up the rest of the stairs. Explaining that it was a genjutsu raised the number of candidates this year.

When we reached the third floor but as we were getting to the classroom the was another interference. This interface is someone I call, Rock Lee.
"Sakura, please be my girlfriend"
"Eww, no"
That was a quick shot down. He blew a kiss in Sakura's direction and she dodged. Lee looked at Sasuke,
"I challenge you"
"This is a waste of time"
I walked passed him heading to the designated classroom.
"What did you say"
I turned around and looked at him square in the eye,
"This is a waste of time"
I continued walking to the designated classroom.
"I accept your challenge"
I stoped and turned around to watch the battle. This is going to end in 30 seconds.

I was right 30 seconds was all Lee needed to defeat Sasuke. That's bad, if Sasuke hasn't become strong enough by the age of seventeen the mission might be extended. Guy intervened when Lee was going to use the primary Lourdes. I guess he was desperate to win. Lee was fighting successfully even when he was blowing kisses in Sakura's direction.

Kakashi was waiting for us in front of the designated classroom.
"Good all of you can together"
"What do you mean sensei"
"If you were missing one person, from your three person team, I would of have to refuse your applications"
He smiled at us though his mask,
"I'm proud of all of you"
Never thought he was the soft type. He disappeared and we opened the door revealing some vicious looking people. I scanned the room and saw the rest of the 'Rookie 9'. Then I saw a familiar red head in the corner. I felt a smile on my face...

[ Sasuke POV ]

"Gaara"
Naruto was walking to a corner where there was a red blob. Everyone from the academy gathered except Naruto. Ino wrapped herself around me while Sakura yelled at her. When they were talking a white haired boy with a leaf headband walked next to us.
"You should be a little quieter"
Ino moved hit head and yelled at the white haired man.
"Who are you"
"My name is Kabuto Yakushi. Anyway take a look around you"
We all turned to face the crowd. Almost all of them were staring at them.
"Behind you... They're from the Rain Village and got tempered."
He looked back at us
"You remind me of my old self"
Sakura looked at him suspiciously,
"Then, this is your second time"
"No, it's my seventh"
It was Shikamru's time to respond,
"Huh"
Sakura talked again,
"Then that means you know a lot about these exams"
Shikamaru added into the conversation again,
"But you haven't passed"
Kabuto rubbed the back of his head,
"That's the case"
"Man, this is utterly bothersome"
"Than, maybe I'll give a bit of information to my cute juniors"
I didn't like that fact that he called me a 'cute junior'.
Kabuto pulled out blank cards out of his pockets.
"With these info ninja cards"
He kneeled on the floor and placed the cards down on the floor,
"I spent four whole years gathering information for this Exam"
He flipped the first card from the pile and it was blank.
"They are pure white to the eye..."
He placed his index finger on the blank card,
"To open the data on these cards..."
He twirled the blank card around revealing a map. Sakura said,
"Whoa, awesome! What information is this"
He looked up at us again,
"Why do you think that the Chunin Exam is jointly conducted in the first place"
The only thing among the silents was Choji eating,
"It's said it's done to deepen friendship among nations first and to boost the Shinobi levels, second"
The card went back to the original color of white. It was my turn to talk,
"Of those cards, are those ones with detailed individual information"
He answered,
"Are there ones you're concerned about"
"Yes, there are. Gaara of the Sand Village, Rock Lee of the Leaf Village, and Naruto Uzumaki of the Leaf Village"
I could feel the other's eyes on to me. Probably wondering why I had asked about Naruto.
"You even know their names, that's no fun"
He pulled out three cards from his large stack and placed them on the floor.
"Here they are"
"Please show me"
He put his finger card and swirled it around slowly like he did before. The first card revealed the information on Rock Lee. The card showed Lee's face, teammates, missions, and abilities.
"He's one year older than you guys. Mission experience, twenty D-ranks and eleven C-ranks. In a year his taijutsu has improved drastically but his other skills aren't good"
He told us who his teammates were then the card went white again. The next was Gaara,
"His mission experience eight C-ranks and get this, one B-rank. He has returned from all of his missions uninjured"
All of us were surprised but Shikamaru were the only one who said something,
"B-rank as a genin... but uninjured"
The last card was Naruto's. The picture was different than what he looked like now. I looked over the card but it was blank besides his picture. It didn't even show me and Sakura as his teammates. It was just blank.
"I've got nothing else beside his face"
I could understand why it was blank but why was the picture different.
"But I think I've seen him before"
"What"
"I think it was five years back"
He paused and all of us were interested,
"He was-"
He was caught off by Naruto who was standing behind him.
"It's not nice to talk about someone behind their back"
Kabuto stiffened in an instant. If you looked at Naruto's eyes they were ice cold and if you looked into Kabuto's they were full of fear. He walked in front of Kabuto and turned his back to us,
"So what were you saying"
"Nothing"
Naruto was getting called out to from across the room and started walking over. Then he stoped and looked back to Kabuto.
"I've never seen you before. Are you really a leaf shinobi"
Kabuto turned to face him,
"I've lived here my whole life"
Naruto said something else and continued walking.
"Attention up here"
We all looked to the man standing in the front of the room.
"I am the proctor for this stage of the exam, Ibiki Morino"
The scared man looked around the room,
"You will get into a line to receive your number telling you where to sit"
Everyone started forming a line and Kabuto turned to us quickly,
"Listen..."
Our attention was back on him,
"Is you ever get into a fight with Uzumaki, run"
I was about to ask why but Kabuto rushed to get in line with the other ninja. He left all of us confused by his words. Was the idiot as dangerous as he had said?

[ Naruto POV ]

Everyone in to room got a number, sat down in their designated seat, and the first phase of the exam started. Ibiki explained how the tests will be graded and when the tenth quest was going to be handed out. I wasn't focused on the test in front of me but the man they called Kabuto. I'm sure that I've never seen him around the village. The guy was a phony. He must be on line with the newly founded, Sound Village. Oh well, I put my head down on the desk, I'll deal with it when the times comes. I fell asleep on the desk.

I was woken up by Ibiki,
"Good morning"
"It's afternoon kid"
"Did they pass"
He nodded his head,
"All of them held their ground until the end"
I got up and walked to the window,
"Thanks Ibiki"
I jumped out the window and ran to the Forest of Death.

I was standing right behind Sasuke and Sakura who were standing in front of Gate 21.
"Where is that idiot"
"Hn"
"I know the proctor told us he would wake him up but it's getting late"
I walked behind them revealing myself to the person who had to open the gate and waved. He opened the gate,
"Why is the gate opening"
I started walking in front of them into the forest. I turned around and smiled back at the two of them.
"Hurry up"
They started walking along side me as we walked into Training ground 44, The Forest of Death.
"You don't know what we're supposed to do, dobe"
"That's what your here for right"
Maybe this phase will be more exciting than the first.
