Chapter 18

[ Naruto POV ]

I saw Itachi punch Sasuke in the stomach. I whispered,
"Is this what it means to keep up appearances"
"Yep"
'And now you wake up'
"You should learn from this"
Itachi lifted his hand from my head, stood up and, looked down at Sasuke with a straight face. Sasuke got up trying not to show any signs of pain but Itachi kicked him down. My mission is to protect Sasuke but Itachi won't kill him because he cares about him to much. Still though, it is my mission to protect him and Itachi is harming Sasuke. I've got to use references and...
"Stop"
...continue the mission.
"I won't let you hurt Sasuke anymore"
I was standing in front of Sasuke looking straight at Itachi.
"Are you prepared to become my enemy, Naruto"
"The mission is more important than anyone's feelings"
Itachi's face was still showing no emotion but I could tell that he was proud of my decision, he did the same thing after all. I closed my eyes and sensed everything around me. I could feel Sasuke behind me, Gramps siting in on of the seat, Kakashi sitting next to Gramps and, Itachi standing in front of me.

[ Kakashi POV ]

"I've never seen them fight it out like this"
"If I remember correctly, Itachi was the one that recommended Naruto"
This is going to be a good fight.

Itachi activated his sharingan and Naruto is still standing. I looked to Lord Third,
"Shouldn't we capture the Rogue Ninja"
He shrugged,
"Naruto's right there so I don't see the problem"
It would be great to be holding a bucket of popcorn right about now.

[ Itachi POV ]

He's gotten better. Dodging every attack without wasting a movement or opening his eyes. He hasn't been hit by a single attack but he hasn't attacked once. I should make this a little tougher for him. I started making fast hand signs,
"Phoenix flower jutsu"
Naruto made hand signs of his own,
"Water bullet jutsu"

[Third Person POV]

The two exchanged attacks until they started getting tired. Itachi stopped attacking first,
"Naruto"
Naruto opened his eyes and looked at Itachi confused.
"It's time for me to go"
Naruto gained a saddened look,
"Okay"
Itachi disappeared and appeared in front of Sasuke. He touched Sasuke's head and Sasuke fell to the ground. Naruto ran to Itachi and hugged him. Naruto got a pat on the head and smile before he disappeared. When Itachi disappeared Naruto turned the the Hokage who was still sitting the stands.
"Can I consider my mission finished"
Naruto could see the Hokage give him a thumbs up from the stands and disappeared with a puff of smoke.

[Naruto POV]

I've got time to sleep now. I arrived in front of my house and it was broken down. I walked inside and saw the place completely wrecked. All of the dishes were on the floor, the furniture was ripped up, and the walls had negative comments on them. I ran over to the cabinets and opened them. The tea set that Itachi had given me was broken.
"It's a good thing I kept the bell with me today"
I reached into policy and felt nothing. I looked throughout the apartment and it wasn't there.
"I know I didn't drop it when I was running"
The realization hit me and anger stared bubbling up.
"They took it..."
"They..."
"It's..."
Hot tears started running down my face.
'Kit calm down'
"It's....They"
'Your anger is over coming me'
"They...."
'Your getting put off control'
I wasn't paying attention to Kurama's warnings. My anger was taking me over and my whole mind was filled with angry.
"They took it"
'Kit'
"They took it"
'Kit calm down'
"They took it"
I yelled,
"THEY TOOK IT FROM ME"
I couldn't think anymore. My mind was becoming flooded with anger.
'Kit your getting out of control'

[Third Person POV]

A roar rang though the hidden leaf and the roof of an apartment building broke. Another roar was heard,
"THEY TOOK IT FROM ME"
Everyone ran from the building in fear. Some walked closer because of curiosity.

Every villager was evacuated into the stone carvings of the Hokage's and the ninja was getting closer to the animal roar.

Naruto's skin was peeling off by the orange chakra surrounding his body. His fourth tail was starting to burn. Naruto couldn't feel the pain from his skin.

The ninja got closer and saw a half burned kid yelling. Kakashi told everyone to stay where they were as he got closer to Naruto. Kakashi sighed,
'He's having a tantrum'
He kneeled down to Naruto's level and they made eye contact. Kakashi started speaking calming as if he was talking to a child.
"Calm down and tell me what's wrong"
The orange chakra around Naruto started calming down.
"They took it"
"Who"
Naruto's skin started healing,
"Those ninja that pinned me down"
"What did they take"
Naruto's orange chakra disappeared and his skin was healed. Now Kakashi could see true tears rolling down Naruto's face.
"They took the bell Itachi gave me"
"You mean this"
Kakashi pulled out a silver bell from his pouch. Naruto recognized it immediately,
"That's it"
Kakashi placed them bell in Naruto's hands and Naruto cliched the bell. He hugged gave Kakashi a surprise.
"Captain"
Naruto back away and smiled.
"Thank you Kakashi"

Naruto was standing in front of the Hokage who was sitting at his desk.
"Naruto"
"Yes Gramps"
"I'm sending you to the Root"
"What"
Naruto didn't like that idea.
"Your sending me to that crusty old man. What a are you stupid"
The Hokage sighed,
"You need to learn to control your emotions"
Naruto knew he was right but he didn't want to go to the Root. He would have to get a brand on his tongue and he already had enough marks. The Root was fill to the brim with nothing but completely obedient servants. Naruto sighed,
"Give me one more week until I go"
"Make that five days"
"Yes sir"

During those five days Naruto activated the curse mark making him able to use chakra without pain and take on last look around the village. Of course he got pulled into some alleyways in the process but he still got to see the village. He bumped into a few of his 'friends' and had pleasant conversations with them.

Naruto stood in front of the Hokage's desk with Anbu behind him.
"Gramps"
"Do you have something to say Naruto"
Naruto placed the silver bell he had got from Itachi on the desk. The Hakge looked at him,
"Are you sure"
Naruto nodded and after he was knocked out by the Anbu behind him.
