Chapter 14

[ Naruto POV ]

We were running through the trees while Sakura and Sasuke briefed me on the second phase of the exams.
"I didn't sign the safety papers"
"There's nothing you can do about it now"
"If I die make sure to tell Gramps"
"Hn"
"Stop joking Naruto"
"Hehehe"
We stoped in an open plain so we could rest. We all sat in a circle planing on how to get a heaven scroll.
I gave a suggestion,
"We could ambush every team we come across"
Sakura answered,
"How are we going to know where the teams are"
"I can sense anything within my chakra range"
"That's a Jonini level technique"
"It only takes a little chakra control"
I laid down on the grass with my head under my head.
"Anyway, while your making the plan I'm going to be asleep so wake me up"
"All you do is sleep"
I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep while listening to their planing.

I got up and walked around.
"Where are you going dobe"
"Bathroom"

[ Sasuke POV ]

Is he really just going to that bathroom. Oh well, I've got to make a plan.

A few minutes later Naruto walked back from the bushes but something was different. His leg wrap saw on his left leg not his right. I got into my fighting position and ran towards the fake.
"What are you doing"
I started attacking and Sakura yelled at me.
"Why are you attacking Naruto, Sasuke"
"That is not Naruto"
I kept attacking and the fake and the jutsu casted disappeared. The person acting as Naruto turned out being a ninja from the Hidden Rain.
"I thought I transformed into your teammate pretty well"
"Hn"
The ninja started making water clones and I matched them with shadow clones.

I was able to win and Naruto was coming back. He walked over to me and I stoped him.
"When does a ninja strike"
"I got it, I got it, a ninja waits till the time is right. When the enemy sleeps and drops his guard, when his weapons lie forgotten in the stillness of the night. That is the moment for a ninja to strike"
"Naruto-"
I put a blade to his neck,
"Why are you doing that Sasuke"
"Dobe was asleep when we made the password"
"He was"
The person released the jutsu and was a Hidden Grass Shinobi. I heard a yell from the bushes,
"Get away from them"
The ninja's attention changed to Naruto who was walking out of bushes. I jumped back from the ninja and Naruto stood in front of us.
"Where have you been"
He didn't look back,
"I had something to do"
Naruto's attention stayed on the grass ninja. He looked serious and spoke again.
"What do you want"
The enemy ninja responded,
"Your heaven scroll of course"
"You think I'm going to believe that"
Slowly Naruto was backing away trying to get away from the ninja.
"So what do you really want"
He ran towards us and started attacking. Naruto was blocking every attack coming at him. He didn't dodge or attack, he just blocked.
"Why don't you attack"
"Because you will become venerable"
"Sasuke can protect himself"
"Can you protect yourself "
I looked closely to all of the attacks I realized that there were faster attacks mixed in with the slow ones. Naruto was blocking all of them without batting an eye.
"You should pay attention to the battle Uzumaki"
"I will when you tell me what your after"
The ninja responded,
"Sasuke"
I shuddered and Naruto smiled,
"He's just a weak kid, why not take me instead"
"I'm just looking for an Uchiha"
"So your type is young ravens, man I don't think I'm worth anything anymore"
"That's nonsense, your are worth something"
I heard a voice in my head,
'Keep your guard up and stay out of my way'
It was Naruto's voice. His mouth wasn't moving but I could hear his voice ringing though his head. He looked back and smiled,
"Let's have a little fun"

Both, me and Sakura, watched the exchange between the two ninja. They weren't using any ninjitsu or genjutsu. The only thing they were using to fight was taijustu. Every blow had the intent to kill. You could barely see the trading blows. It was only a blur, the whole fight was a blur. It seemed like they were talking with all of the blows. Eventually summoning jutsu was used by the grass ninja summoning a snake. In response Naruto summoned his own creature. A fox with nine tail showed in full form. The two beast fought while the summoners continued their fight. The grass ninja spoke,
"How about we get serious"
"I agree"
Naruto pulled a scroll from his pouch and threw it in the air releasing what was in there. There was a katana and another pouch but this time it was black. The other ninja took her face off revealing a man instead of a women.
"I have to say that this is an honor to be fighting a Legendary Sanini, Orochimaru-dono"
"You are a strong ninja, Uzumaki"
"I feel honored"
They started using ninjutsu,
"Rasenshuriken"
A shuriken appeared in Naruto's hand and he threw it at Orochimaru. He dodged and the jutsu caused an explosion.
"You really are a snake"
They exchanged jutsu until one of them were running out is chakra. They started attacking each other with taijutsu again and Naruto was focusing on blocking again. He pulled out a bell and it rang. It was loud and covered all of the fighting and noises. He walked away from the battle,
"It's time to go"
Sakura scolded Naruto,
"What about the scroll"
He replied calmly,
"Would you like to take a scroll from him mid-battle"
We ran as fast as we could getting away from the ninja.
