The next morning came and Ace house is calm and quiet, that kind of silence that tells you that everyone is well rested and are ready for the day ahead of them. Cid started breakfast as usual while the rest of the gang freshen up, after they do, they immediately head down stairs to eat together.
RING RING RING RING
the gang are talking about a possible lunch together.The ringing of the phone from the living room echoed to the kitchen, Princess rushed to get it since she's the closes to the living room.
"hello Ace residence princess speaking" she formally answers, their rule since it's the landline phone where anyone can call.
"Princess? can I talk to you guys.......I miss you" Princess quickly recognized the caller without even asking who it is, she runs back to the kitchen with the phone.
"guys its Eshan she wants to talk!" Princess quickly turned it to loud speaker and placed it at the center of the table while they eat.
"hey is everything okay?" Jam asked
"yeah yeah yeah its just feels so lonely here"
"hey how about we visit you for lunch......what do you want to eat" Sea suggested, all of them has a flexible schedule today not to many things to stress about, it's like that calm sea before a thundering storm.
"Anything is fine as long as it agrees with my diet.......fruits and vegetables" she laughs.
"Maybe we should call Mae she's been to focus on work she might fall apart if she didn't take some vitamin rest" Era remarks, Rylene who is ahead of her and already sent Mae a text to come when she has the time.
Since they started college it's been really hard keeping up with their individual schedules and trickily slipping in a free time for themselves even if they're not suppose too. Everyone is so busy that the only time they have for each other is when they eat breakfast, dinner, or when they hang out at the hospital every Sunday to accompany Eshan in her lonely room.
They can say that everything is going well, school gives the right amount of hell while life gives an excessive amount of shit. but they can always manage.
They got to school purposely late today because all of them are mentally drained to the core with school work, the exams are fast approaching and this process will repeat itself until the gang finally graduates in their majors, except for Maria, Cid and Sea they have a long way ahead of them. Jam didn't forget to bring the bracelet with her today in case Archie decides to go to school, Jam felt like she slipped up and failed in their relationship, thinking that she completely over reacted. but what can she do, it's natural for her when it comes to relationships.
sitting anxiously in class and wait for Archie, she is already thinking of the words she'll say to him, wishing that the mini script in my head will turn out as a good as she think it is in her head. I'm sorry I never turned my phone on, sorry I forgot to turn off my airplane mode, I was just in a hurry that day.....there was an emergency, crying......no my eyes are just sweating.
"yeah that last one is dumb" The girl whispers to while leaning her cheek in her right hand on the table, then without a warning Rowan appeared behind her. Jam who is kind of used by it now didn't flinched at all.
She twisted her body to face a grinning Rowan, unamused "Do you really have to do that every time you approach me?"He awfully does that for some reason.
"yes, yes I have to" Rowan proceeds to claim the seat beside Jam "it's fun to scare you a little" he adds.
"well.....thanks to you I'm no longer surprised with anything you throw my way"
"R-right......
Jam looked at the back row seats and that's when her heart started to beat like crazy, Archie was smiling? he's smiling? why is something funny? Jam immediately stood up gathering all the courage to talk to him again. To talk to him like nothing happened. She marches to the back seats as they're eyes never left each other's watch, funny that this never happened to them before and it oddly feels comfortable and normal for Jam. in her hands are his bracelet, lucky for the girl Archie doesn't have anyone with him that can possibly ruin their only time together. She awkwardly sat beside him all stiff and tensed, both of them looking forward now avoiding eye contact. The silence killed Jam's confidence and that silence is not even the good kind. Suck it up and talk Jam! she mentally slapped herself and uttered the first words but little do they know they were just feeling and thinking the same thing.
"I-
"Jam-
They exchanged looks and Archie gestures her to go first but instead of talking Jam opened the velvet box and quickly wore her bracelet first with Archie curiously watching her. after that Jam gently held her lovers wrist which surprised him. She carefully placed Archie's bracelet on his fragile thin wrist, it surprises Jam every single time that she is more fleshy than her lover it makes her well-being tremble to the fact that she is fat and she's very much insecure about it. Archie lovingly stared in awe at the piece of beautiful monotone marble bracelet.
"i-i'm sorry" Jam managed to say with her guilt slowly exiting her conscience as she get lost in her boyfriend's gleaming eyes. Archie took her hands and envelopes it in palms, making this warm and calming sensation inside of Jam's heart.
"I'm sorry" he softly said as he implants a kiss on Jams knuckles, the girl was taken back by his apology, sorry because he cheated or sorry because of something else. Jam tried not to overthink things again and went in with a different approach to make the guy talk since he's been awfully quiet "you're sorry because of the misunderstanding or you're sorry because you don't love me anymore?" Archie's eyes widens in shock and quickly shakes his head obviously disagreeing with that last one.
"T-then what is it.......a-am I lacking some- some certain qualities?" Jam said with quivering lips finally breaking down in front of her lover. Archie noticed his girl shaking and looking down on her hands that are still in his hands.
Archie can't ever look at Jam crying specially when he knows that it's his fault why she's in tears, he feels guilty and responsible but other than feeling guilty he feels as if Jam's pain is also imbedded in him. Archie then takes her in his arms rubbing her back in a circling motion, good thing the back row is always the neglected part of the room no one can disturb them, but thank you too to their names because no one dares to mess with them because of status.
"I don't know how to say it but I know that I love you....I'm sorry I tried to see the problem as simple as that.....I'll give you my phone if you want....my social media accounts and–
"No I trust you" she stopped Archie and sinks in his warm embrace, slowly intoxicated in Archie's cologne she ponders to herself if she is being completely fair to Archie, though Jam is not actually lying about what she feels she doesn't feel like she's lying about her relationship with Rowan either since he never asked.
They broke from each other hug when their professor entered the room blooming and refreshed, it looks like everything is doing fine with his side of the story. The class immersed itself to the lessons writing down some of the most important parts of the discussion, Jam ends up sitting beside Archie the whole hour, first time to sit next to her boyfriend to be exact. they only display their relationship when Jam is comfortable because it isn't necessary anyway, being together is enough.
But the recent issue got Jam thinking. she's been thinking if everything is really alright.
"okay class to remind you again your exams will be this week.....
All suddenly sighed and groaned at the same time as they gather their materials
"but there is also a good news.....
Mr. Quero held in his laughter seeing the reaction of his students all ears and listening.
"After the exam.....you're all given a break!" his students cheers and he celebrates with them since the educator has plans on his own too. The class went to their own individual classes feeling cheerful as ever, the effect of good news to students.
