Peixin was right. The staff members truly served rice with vegetables for lunch. Peixin sat beside me in the dinning table.
"Soobin-jie, tell me, what on earth is your marvellous idea?" He said.
"Just wait a few moments, kid," I said to him, "Great deeds shouldn't be done in a hurry."
Seeing the two of us not eating anything, Shijie came to see us.
"Why aren't you eating, Peixin?" She said, "You're a growing kid. You should eat more."
She took a spoon full of vegetable-rice and put it in Peixin's mouth before he could say anything.
It was hard for me to control laughter, yet I succeeded.
"You don't worry, Shijie," I said, "I'll make sure that he eats up the whole bowl."
Shijie went to the other side being assured of my words.
Then my laughter broke out like tidal waves.
"Ah!" He said, "Can't you just do what you are meant to do instead of laughing?"
"Don't be mad, Peixin," I said to him, "Now here's the ace of my strategy...."
