CHAPTER 3: CAPTURE THE ALEKS

~Xander's POV~

I was woken up by a trumpet blaring in my ear. I jerked up and hit my head on the top bunk. Cringing I covered my ears trying to block out the damned noise. Someone climbed off the top and moved towards the dresser, not seeming bothered by the noise. What was his name again?  Ugh, why should I care he was just another monster that feared me. The trumpets stopped, hopefully they dont do that every day.  I let out a sigh and stood up. The boy jumped and turned to me. His blue eyes wide with fear. A look of recognition flashed in his eyes and he gave me a small smile. My heart skipped a beat, the hell was that? I picked up my bag. Where was the bathroom?

"Uhm, the bathroom is next door if you wanted to get changed in there" The kid said looking away. Whoa was he a mind reader or what? I nodded and walked outside. A handful of monsters where in the hall. A boy with scales and red eyes glared at me then whispered something to the ghoul beside him. They both started laughing hysterically. I sighed again and walked into the bathroom. A few stalls lined the wall. The sinks and mirrors where on the other side. Did they not have showers? I went into a stall and started to change.

"Did you see the new kid?" I heard someone say.

"Yeah, he is rooming with the wierdo Aleks" Another voice responded with a laugh. Aha! Thats his name, I would need to remember that.

"Poor guy, hope he doesn't catch nerd" the first voice laughed also.

"What are we going to do today?"

"I was thinking something along the lines of spoiled milk in his bed"

"Cant new we just beat him up? I have so much energy" the second voice said cracking his knuckles.

"Ooh, that sounds really fun. Come on lets go I need to get my gloves." Voice one said and then they left. I pulled on my jacket and walked out of the stall. It didn't suprise me that Aleks was bullied. He was scrawny and shy. He looked alot like a girl and didnt like anyone. Welp not my problem, let him get beat up. I washed my face and exited the bathroom. I walked back to the room and dropped my bag off. Aleks was making the bed.

"Do they do the trumpets every morning?" I asked him and he jumped.

"Oh, uhm yeah" he said laughing nervously "You get used to it though"

"Great" I groaned. "What class do you have first?" I asked as he stood up brushing off his pants.

"Gym" he said frowning. I took my schedule out of my bag. I had gym first also, the teacher was named Mr. Smith. At least he could show me where the gym was.

"I have gym also, lets walk there together" I said and he nodded a tiny smile on his face.

Gym Class

Me and Aleks sat next to each other in a giant room. There was a glass ceiling and two basketball hoops on each side of the court. A giant man walked into the middle of the room. And when I say giant I mean GIANT. This guy looked like he could snap a limo in half like a twig.

"Hello class, today we our playing capture the flag" He shouted. The class cheered and I heard Aleks whimper a little. I looked over to him, he was cringing and looked horrified.

"Team captains are Finny and New Kid" The gym teacher shouted again looking at me. The kid in front of me stood up smiling. He walked to the gym teacher and stood next to him still smiling. I followed after him standing on the opposite side of Mr. Smith with my hands in my pockets. "Choose your teams!" Mr. Smith shouted. Ugh I hate loud mouths. The kid Finny scanned the room smirking.
