The next few days were pretty much the same, the babies seemed to get better but had 'episodes' where they scared the life out of us. I was learning to knit with Lee's mum and surprised myself by being good at it. That was not the only surprise... Lee's daughter came to visit.

Yep, Lee was married before and has a daughter.

"Daddy!" I heard yelled from the doorway. A little girl, brown hair in pig tails, her best red dress, white cardigan, ankle sock and black shoes bolted through the room towards Lee and clung onto him like a Koala bear.

He kissed and cuddled her, Eskimo kisses and everything. I felt a pang of jealousy. "Show me the babies daddy," she said excited and insistent. He carried her over to the incubators.

"This is Bay," he said.

She gave a girly squeal and hugged her daddy closer with excitement as she looked at Bay in amazement. "Is he going to grow big?" she asked.

"We hope so," Lee replied and carried her around to see Willow.

"This is Willow," he announced.

His daughter stared at her little cousin in awe before bursting into tears and hugged her daddy, "Why is she in there?" she asked.

"Because she was born too early just like you," Lee said.

"Did her mummy die too?" she asked through her tears making my jaw drop.

"Yes sweetheart, she did," he whispered in response.

The little girl cried and was comforted by her daddy and her grandmother who decided to go cuddle them both.

"Suri's mother died in childbirth, she has never known her," her grandfather informed me to the side. I looked towards him, only then realising I was teary eyed for the poor child. "She was very close to her uncle Glen and hasn't quite come to terms with the loss."

"I know how that feels," I said losing a few tears in the process.

Bay started to cry which startled the little girl. "Is he sore?" she asked looking horrified.

"Probably," Lee said smiling at her. Sore, that was not a word I had associated with the twins yet but she was probably onto something. "Come get washed so you can stroke them gently," Lee said leading her over to a sink.

She washed her hands so hard and meticulously it was amazing a pair of hands appeared out of the suds at the end. "I'm ready," she said excited.

She walked over and pulled around a chair to lean on, took a deep breath and put her hand very gently through the hole to Bay. "Shhhh little Bay, I will make you better," she whispered and for a moment I believed her. She sang a little tune which I didn't recognise and Bay opened his eyes making her stop and look at Lee in shock.

"Carry on," Lee whispered. "He likes it."

She smiled proudly and sang sweetly for a few minutes before moving over to Willow. Willow too perked up at the sound of the song and Suri was so gentle with them it was a delight to watch.

"Come say hello to Mae," Lee said as she closed the hatch to Willows incubator promising a song later. He led her over, "Suri this is Mae, auntie April's sister," he announced.

She turned shy and hugged her fathers leg, "You sing beautifully and this is a beautiful dress," I said reaching out to stroke the fabric.

"These are pearls," she said pointing to a waistband.

"You are very lucky," I added.

She nodded in agreement. "I have one with diamonds on and the green sparkly one."
