Chapter 50

Saturday

Alex POV
The sisters and I decided we need to hang out more so I'm going over to theirs for the night. "It's gonna be so lonely without you!" John whines as I pack an overnight bag.

"You can survive one night without me." I say and he pouts. "I promise I'll make it up to you when I get back, give me a kiss." I say, he pouts again but kisses me.

My phone buzzes, it's from Peggy saying they're outside. "I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow." I say walking to the front door. He grabs my hand and pulls me back into another kiss.

"See you tomorrow." he says, I blush really hard and look away. I leave and walk down to the sisters car.

"Ooh, someone's blushing! What happened?" Angie says as I get in the back with Peggy. "Nothing!" I yell going redder, they all laugh and we drive back to the Schuyler mansion.

"Philip!" I say seeing their father standing by the door waiting for us, "Alexander, how long has it been?" he asks giving me a hug. "December last year." I reply.

We go inside and head up to Angelica's room, she put two mattresses on the floor for me and Peggy and her and Eliza will sleep in the bed, it's pretty much a middle school sleepover.

"Gosh we haven't done this in ages!" Eliza says sitting down, "Yeah, not since we moved into the dorms at Kings." I reply.

Angie pulls out a makeup kit and a bunch of snacks and turns to me. I know exactly what she's thinking and I already hate it. "Please no. The last time I wore makeup was when we met John." I say, Peggy laughs grabbing the kit and Eliza and Angie pin me down.

They managed to get my makeup done perfectly even though I was moving the entire time. Truly magic.

"You are so annoying." Peggy says once I'm finally allowed to sit up, she hands me a mirror. "How?" I ask astounded, "Magic." she replies smirking.

A bell rings from downstairs and I know that means dinner, I check my phone and realize it's 6:30 so we head down.

"I see they captured you." Philip says as we enter, I laugh, "You did a great job though." he finishes patting Peggy on the head.

We sit down and the staff bring us our dinner. "So, Alexander, we haven't talked in quite some time! Tell me what's new?" Philip says looking at me.

"Well, my boyfriend and I moved in together a few months ago. It's going great." I say, he nods his head. "I would love to meet this John, he sounds like a dream." he says and Angie laughs. "Yeah, what about you Angie? Anything new with your boyfriend?" I ask and she shuts up.

Philip turns to her, "Are all my children hiding secret boyfriends and girlfriends?" he asks looking around the table, they all look down at their food embarrassed. "Well, I want to meet them. Bring them all over for dinner next week, you too Alexander." he says.

They all glare at me which I guess I deserve. I guess Angie wanted to get back at me for spilling about John Church because she started blurting out everything that's happened in the past year.

"Alexander got yellow fever and refused treatment." she said, I look at her with a 'What the fuck' face and she shrugs, "Angelica got drunk and had sex with John Baker, that's why they're dating." I say back.

"Alexander got his boyfriend shot." "He got shot on his own terms!" "You're taking prescriptions." "Yeah, given by a doctor." "You're not even considering going into law!" "I changed my mind! You never know in a year I might want to be a lawyer again."

"You had sex with Jefferson!" she covers her mouth and I can see the regret on her face. "I-I'm sorry-" "I didn't have sex with him, he raped me." I say coldly. I get up and leave.

Eliza POV
She went too far and I can see she knows that.

"Well now you've done it." Peggy says, she drops her face into her hands, "Fuck me." she says, "Language!" my dad yells. She get up but I make her sit back down, "I'll go talk to him." I say getting up and running upstairs into Alexander's old room.

"Alex, you in here?" I ask walking around. I hear a sniff from the bathroom. I go up to the door and knock. "Alexander?" I ask, there's a bit of shuffling. "I'm coming in." I say, I open the door.

He's sitting up against the bath on the floor, I kneel down in front of him. "She didn't mean it." I say quietly, "I know. It's just... Bad memories." he replies. I take his hands and roll up his sleeves. No cuts, thank God.

I intertwine our fingers and pull him into a hug, "It's okay." I say trying to comfort him. The door opens and Angelica peeks inside, she sees us and enters, "Alexander I'm so sorry, I didn't mean-" "I know. I'm sorry for overreacting." he says. He stands up and hugs her.

"That's not overreacting." she says quietly hugging him back. We walk downstairs again and sit at the table, "So, Jefferson strikes again?" my dad asks and Alex nods, "One day that boy will be in jail." "He probably has a pretty good lawyer considering he's rich." Peggy says.

"Well, you're a member of two rich families so I'm sure you'll have a good lawyer as well." Alex looks at him confused, "This family and your adopted family." he says smiling. I smile too and side hug Alex who blushes slightly. "I guess..."

"Well finish your food so you can do whatever up in your room."

Alex POV

"Yeah, I'm sorry but it would have to happen anyways."
"Well it's not just you. My brother and sisters are also gonna be there with their boyfriends and girlfriend."
"Right."
"Good, it's gonna be fine."
"Don't worry about it."
"He'll love you."
"Mhm, okay then."
"Love you, bye."

Angie hangs up, "One down and three to go." she says looking at Eliza signaling it's her turn. She dials her boyfriends number and it rings.

"Hey baby."
"So uh, my brother accidentally spilled that my sister's and I are dating and now my father wants us to bring you guys over to meet him."
"Oh?"
"Oh that's good."
"Okay then."
"Yeah no, we're all gonna be there."
"Him too yes."
"His boyfriend."
"No he's bi."
"Why are we discussing my brother now?"
"Okay then."
"Next week Friday."
"Probably at six but I'll tell you the actual time on Monday."
"Okay then."
"See you on Monday."
"Love you too, bye."

She hangs up and I punch her in the arm, "Sorry." she says and Peggy laughs, "Yeah, yeah, your turn." I say and she dials Maria's number.

"Hey~"
"Yeah, too bad."
"I'll make it up to you, I promise."
"Yeah, also I have a bit of bad news."
"My dad wants to meet you."
"Next week Friday, for dinner."
"Don't worry it's not just you, it's also John Church, John Laurens and Stephen Van Rensselaer ."
"It'll be fun... Hopefully."
"Okay then, I'll see you on Monday."
"Love you more, bye!"

She hangs up and looks at me, "Your turn." I sigh, "Can't I just tell him tomorrow? We live together." she shakes her head, "We told ours over the phone and now you do too." Angie says handing me my phone. I sigh again and dial his number.

"Hey baby, what's up?"
"Hey love, uh, we have a small problem."
"Oh no, what happened?"
"Angie and I got into an argument and it ended in me spilling that they're all dating people."
"Sounds fun."
"It wasn't."
"So what now?"
"Philip wants you all over next week for dinner."
"Wow, I get to meet your other dad now."
"Gosh, sometimes I want to hit you."
"That's abusive."
"Sure."
"Alright then, I guess we're having dinner next week."
"Yeah, I love you."
"I love you too baby girl."
"That's a new one."
"You like it?"
"Yeah, it's cute."
"See you tomorrow. I miss you already."
"Ha, see you tomorrow, bye."
"Bye."

I hang up and look at the girls, "Flirting over the phone. How dare you." Angie says sarcastically. I glare at her.

"Come on! I wanna watch Moana!" Peggy says taking my phone away from me. We get comfortable and put Moana on Eliza's laptop. "We're watching Miranda after." I say, "How many times have you watched that?" Angie asks, "I don't know but the music is so good!"

"Fine then, but after." "Yeah, after." "Give me the chips."
