Alex POV
I was lying in my bed waiting for Angelica to arrive after her first day. My fever has gone down almost completely and my arms are better still have a headache though. My back but that should be better by tomorrow.

I'm getting pretty bored, I turn over and stare at the wall. "Alexander?" I sit up to see Angelica looking into the room. "Come in!" I say excitedly.

She walks in and takes a seat next to me. "Hey, how are you?" she asks. "Better." I reply. She grabs her bag and pulls out some text books. "These are for you." she says handing them to me, "Oh my God... Is this...?" I ask and she nods, "Yeah, all the work your classes did today." she says, "Thank you!" I say hugging her.

"Alright now talk." I say. "Right! It wasn't much. We just did orientation." she says. "I can't believe you're actually going through with this." I say, "Well, I really wanna do something with my life and if it's anything then, it's something to help people."

"Mhm, can you help me sneak out of here?" I ask and she laughs, "No." she says and I groan flopping down on the bed. "So, do you know when you're getting out?" she asks and I shake my head. "Doctors say it's either Wednesday or Saturday." I say. "Seriously?" she asks and I nod.

"Yeah, I don't know when this fever will go down completely and I still can't walk." I say. She pats me on the head and I make a glum face.

The door opens again and the doctor walks in. "I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" he asks and we both shake our heads, "No! Definitely not." I say and he nods walking up to my bed.

"Well mister Hamilton, how are you feeling today? Now that you're not yelling for me to turn the heart monitor off." he says and Angelica snickers. "I still want it off by the way." I say and he sighs. "Mr Hamilton if we turned it off and you went into shock we wouldn't know." he says, "Have I been in shock yet?" I ask, "No." he replies. "So I'm clearly not going to."

I can see Angelica almost fall out of her seat. "How are you feeling?" he asks again. "Better... Is my back supposed to still be sore?" I ask, "Well, no." he says, "But we've checked and there doesn't seem to be a problem." I sigh dropping back onto my pillow.

"How's your head?" he asks, "It's great! Can I leave now?" I ask and the doctor laughs for a second, "No." he says and I roll my eyes. "If your fever isn't gone and your back isn't better by tomorrow then you'll be discharged on Saturday." he says and I sigh.

"Can I at least get some pain killers?" I ask. The door opens again and John walks in, "Sorry I'm late!" he says, "Save me John!" I yell and I swear if Angelica wasn't clinging onto the bed she'd be on the floor.

I shove her and she falls to the floor in a fit of hysterical laughter. John sits down next to me, "So?" he asks looking at the doctor, "If his fever doesn't go down and his back doesn't feel better by tomorrow then he'll only get discharged on Saturday." he says.

"Your backs still not better?" John asks and I shake my head. "Well, could it be another problem?" he asks, "No, we've done x-rays and everything seems perfectly fine. It's just a lingering effect. It'll be fine in a few days." he says.

"I'll leave you now." and with that he leaves. "So, why were you so late?" I ask suspiciously, "I was on the phone with my dad. He wants me to get an apartment a few blocks away from the university." he says. I look at him surprised. "Well? Are you considering it?" I ask, he shrugs his shoulders. "It would be nice to get an apartment away from school but, I mean, I'd be away from you." he says kissing me in the forehead.

"Does Herc know?" Angie asks, she's still sitting on the floor. "No, I haven't told him yet. I don't want to unless I actually decide to get the apartment." I sit up, "Are you gonna go see the apartment?" I ask, he nods his head, "Yeah, what do I have to lose?" he asks, "An afternoon." Angie replies getting up.

"I have to get back to my sisters who are probably dying to know how my first day went, I'll see you later John. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon Alexander." she says and leaves.

We sit quietly for a moment, "Where does it hurt?" John asks breaking the silence. "Spine." I reply turning around. He runs his hand gently down my spine and I flinch a little, he puts his chin on my shoulder, "I cannot wait till Saturday." he whispers in my ear, I kiss him.

"I can." I say lying down, he groans, "Come on!" he whines, "I'm too sore. We can wait." he strokes my hair and kisses me again. "I suppose I should call my dad." he says and I sigh, "I'll see you tomorrow. Fingers crossed you're discharged on Wednesday." he says, "Fingers crossed." I reply. He kisses me on the cheek and then leaves.

Fingers crossed.
