Adrian's POV
Rose arrived when she said she would, and as soon as she got to my place, we started training. She pushed me, hard, but I was glad she did. I was determined to get Laura back, or die trying. We only rested to eat, sleep, and I would get 3 bathroom breaks a day, at the most. I don't know how long we trained for, if it was days, or even weeks. I got bruised a lot, since she wasn't easy on me, but I was glad, because a Strigoi wouldn't be easy on me either.
It felt like forever before we moved on from just hand-to-hand combat to using a stake. When we moved on to fighting with a stake, she took it a little slower, since I now held a weapon. It took me at least half a day, if not a full day, to be able to get the stake through a dummy, which she had brought with her, knowing one dummy wouldn't be missed. I didn't get much sleep, and I didn't eat much, because I was so worried. Either she's dead, and this will all be for nothing, or she's a Strigoi, and I might have to kill her myself, which won't be easy. Though, I would prefer her to be dead than a Strigoi, I just can't picture her with chalky skin, red eyes, and a cold heart.
I didn't have time to drink, or go out for a smoke, since I was too busy training, which probably made Rose very happy. Though she definitely was still pissed off to all hell that this happened in the first place, but she was not surprised at all that Laura let herself be kept prisoner so that she could save Shayla from the men. Shay knew what was going on now, for the most part, she was not taking it very well, always worried about her best friend. We would visit her occasionally for a short period of time, but Rose would never let me stay long, because she always stressed how important it was that we stay as focused as possible. I didn't say it, but she didn't need to tell me, I was more focused than I'd been in my life, more determined to get the girl I loved back.

Laura's POV
Every night, I went out clubbing, and finding men to feed off of. It was easy to convince them to come with me, to dark places. Sometimes I didn't even need compulsion, I could just use my extremely good looks to convince the man in question to come with me, it was like a game, and I always won. During the day, I usually fought with Matt, Jake and Aiden. They were clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer, they didn't realize I was using them to get more experience for fighting, they just thought I was in it for the bloodlust, like they were, hah. Fools.

Adrian's POV
I collapsed in my bed after another night of training, exhausted, and decided to try for what seemed the millionth time to reach Laura through a spirit dream. I closed my eyes, willing her to be there with me, feeling the spirit course through me... And nothing. Either they weren't letting her sleep, or she was a Strigoi. The first possibility, I could handle, the second... Not so much. I opened my eyes and got off the couch, walking outside in my boxers to get some fresh air. I had given Rose the bed, since I knew she'd want it.
I breathed in the cool night air, trying to clear my head and try to make a plan for rescuing her. If she was dead, I planned on avenging her death, killing all 3, then come home and try to think of a way to break the news to Shay and her parents. I couldn't imagine how her parents would feel, losing their youngest child and only daughter, shortly loosing their youngest son, it would surely be heartbreaking.
If she was prisoner, I'd just have to kill the 3 men, but I'd need Rose's help, since I know I wouldn't be able to do it alone. But if she turned Strigoi, it would be more complicated. We'd have to take care of the men, and then we'd have to turn our attention to her, and I'd have to stake her with a charmed stake. All of a sudden, Laura's face popped into my mind, but it wasn't the face I fell in love with. Well, it was, but it was different, extremely pale skin, red eyes, blood dripping down from her mouth. I shook my head and shuddered, trying to get the image out of my head. I decided to go back into the house and try to get some sleep, plus I was starting to get really cold.
I padded barefoot back into the house and lied down on the couch, closing my eyes and hoping for a night without nightmares.but I had a feeling this was going to be a rough night. I couldn't get the image of Laura as a Strigoi out of my mind, it just kept coming back, haunting me. Instead, I tried to relive our memories in my head, the night we met, out first date, when she agreed to be my girlfriend, when she brought me to meet her parents. I pictured every part of her slowly, making sure I pictured the human and not the Strigoi. Her eyes, her hair, her nose, her lips, her voice, her laugh, all the things I loved about her. And as I did this, I started to drift off into sleep, smiling as I pictured the girl I loved, imagining she was here with me, in my arms, breathing deeply as she slept, cuddled up to me, and smiling in her sleep.
I stood on a beach, at sunset. I was wearing a tux, and I stood beside an older man, who smiled at me. I looked out the other way and saw people I know, friends, even my father, sitting in chairs, talking, laughing, smiling. Music started playing and I looked up, my eyes focusing on the girl starting to walk down the aisle. I felt my smie growing, and as we locked eyes, she smiled too, and I could also detect the hint of a blush. Her father had a giant smile on his face, and her mother, who was in the front row, had tears running down her face, but also a huge smile. This was the best day of my life.
As she reached me, her father kissed her on the forehead and went to sit down. I gripped her hand tightly, but not too tightly as to hurt her, because I wasn't going to let her go. As the minister went over the vows, I got this strange feeling, like something was wrong. Once the "I do's" came aroud, I couldn't stop smiling and staring at her as I said the 2 words. As I went to kiss my new wife, I saw something was wrong, her appearance was changing. Her skin was going extremely pale and and her eyes were turning red. I tried to escape from her, but her hands tightened their grip, not letting me go anywhere. She grinned at me, but it was not a happy grin, it ws an evil grin, a bloodthirsty one. The minister grabbed me from the back to make sure I didn't move, "You may now kiss the bride." The minister growled from behind.
Laura leaned down and bit into me.
