I opened my eyes, surprised that I actually slept. I hadn’t been able to sleep really for the past 3 weeks. I checked my phone, I had one message, and it was from Laura. She sent it at 11:30. It was 2:30 now.
“Good morning. :3”
I wrote a reply,
“It’s afternoon now, sweetheart.”
I got out of bed and went outside to have a smoke, right after lighting up my phone buzzed, Laura replied,
“Well, that’s only because you slept in, smart one.”
I chuckled to myself and replied,
“Are you doing anything now? Want to go out?”
She replied a minute later,
“Sure, coffee & lunch?”
“Sure, I’ll pick you up in half an hour.” I texted back,
“Alright, see you then.” She replied,
30 minutes later, I pulled up in front of the apartment, just as Laura was walking out the door. She was dressed in simple, but nice clothes, dark jeans and a little black shirt with colorful polka dots, when she turned her back to me to step into the car I noticed the back of her shirt was lacey, so I could see the back of a black bra, which also looked lacey. Nice.
I shook that thought away; I wasn’t going to use her for that kind of stuff. I didn’t really think of doing that really, I guess I just find her very attractive. She looked beautiful today, come to think of it, she looked absolutely stunning last night.
“Hello,” she said, smiling at me “How are you?”
“I’m not too bad, how about you sweetheart?” I replied, mildly surprised. No one really asked me outright how I was. I smiled; she was such a caring person.
“I’m pretty good,” She said, blushing. I wonder what she was thinking about that would make her blush. “Where are you taking me? She asked in a teasing voice.
I put the car into drive, “Just a nice little coffee shop near my place.
While we sat, drinking our coffee and eating lunch, I asked her about her life, I wanted to get to know her, since Laura knows quite a bit about me. She told me some of her past, about her family, which she wasn’t close with, except for her brother. He was the only family Laura really loved since she was a teenager, and he understood her better than anyone else in Laura’s family. She mentioned that she didn’t see him much, but they talked a lot, mostly on the phone. She mentioned that she missed him a lot, and I thought maybe I’d give her the chance to see him, if I could that is.
Once we were done, we decided to go for a walk, and talk more, while I had a cigarette. After my cigarette, I invited Laura to my apartment to see my artwork, and it seemed like she loved it. She mentioned that she was a bookworm, loved writing, and art. Though she said she was terrible at drawing/painting, the kind of art I did. We were sitting on the couch, having a thumb wrestling match when my phone buzzed. I looked at the screen
“Huh,” I said out loud “It’s Eddie. Wonder what he wants.”
I answered it, and put it on speakerphone, since I had no secrets from her, she already knew about everything.
“What’s up?” I asked
“Wow, you’re sober for once at this time.” Eddie said, surprised.
“Can it,” I replied “What do you want?”
“Mia… She just had the baby!”
“Oh... That’s, uhm great…” I said, kind of confused
“Yeah,” he said, “You should come to court and visit. Jill’s been missing you.” He said
“Jailbait!” I said, “Alright, I guess I can come down for a bit.”
Laura looked quite upset
“Alright, see you in a while. What day you are going to be here?” Eddie asked.
“Probably tomorrow,” I replied
“Alright, see you then.” Eddie replied “Bye”
“Bye” I said, and hung up the phone
“I’ll miss you…” Laura said, blushing deeply. Damn, she was beautiful.
I looked straight into her eyes “Laura…” I said, making the tone of my voice softer.
“Yes?” She asked, looking surprised at the change in my tone.
I blushed deeply because of what I was about to ask, I hate how much I blush around her,
“Will you go to court with me?” I asked
