I woke up to the feeling of someone tapping the tip of my nose.

"What the actual-?"

I opened my eyes and saw Zabini looking right back at me.

"Blaise?" I panicked, pulling the duvet over my half-dressed body. I loved my nightgown, but I didn't really intend on anyone else seeing me in it - especially while I was asleep, as sometimes things had a tendency of slipping out of it...

"I'm sorry, but you're such a heavy sleeper Kaiye! I can't believe it!" his face was covered in a smile, yet again, "I tried knocking and calling out your name, yet you never answered. I had to make sure you were okay."

How was he this cheerful this early?

"Well, I am okay, thanks for checking on me," I rubbed my eyes, ready to go back to sleep, "Maybe just trust that I'm not dead next time, it'll be easier for the both of us."

I couldn't stand anything waking me up, especially with the fact that I could barely ever fall asleep in the first place.

I closed my eyes, but as soon as I did that Zabini spoke up:

"Kaiye, Snape sent me in here to come looking for you. You haven't shown up for breakfast and his owl couldn't reach you for some reason, so it returned the letter back to him," he looked at the window, "Now that I think about it, the poor thing probably knocked on the window many times, but why would that wake you up, right?"

"Oh, shut up," I laughed, grabbing the letter from his hand.

"I think there's a couple more," he pointed towards the window, an owl standing on it from the outside, with multiple letters in it's beak.

"Oh god," I sighed pulling my wand out from under my pillow and allowing the owl to leave the letters on my table.

"Why couldn't Snape just leave his letter with the rest of those?" I yawned.

"It's probably something important if the owl returned it after not being able to reach you," Zabini explained.

"Mhm, okay," I shrugged. It was probably about the test, and I was not awake enough to read it.

"Don't you want to open it?" he nagged.

"Not really," I said, taking the letter from his hand and standing up to leave it on my desk, "But thank you for giving it to me."

"Zabini?" a voice came from the hallway, "Zabini?"

"I'm here!" he yelled back.

All of a sudden, a blond head appeared in my doorway and I froze.

"Zab-" his eyes landed on me, and immediately I felt more naked than I probably was .

"Yeah Malfoy?"

Malfoy... that's right, that's his name.

He tore his gaze off of me, his face turning into a frown as he looked at Blaise.

"I was looking everywhere for you! Quidditch practice starts in 15, and we still need to go to the stupid uniform fitting."

"Fuck," Blaise stood up, "I'll see you later Kaiye. Don't forget to read the letter!"

He walked outside of my room, as Malfoy stood there for a second longer looking at me, before he followed along.

I was more than confused at the weird pit that I felt in my stomach. But as I continued thinking about it, my eyes caught a glimpse of the name on one of the letters that were stacked on top of my table.
