"What are we gonna do?!" Tooth panicked as her wings fluttered intensely. "Now that we know Pitch is back he'll want revenge now!"

"Alright Alright- calm down..." Bunny said, sighing in distress. "Calm down...CALM DOWN?!" Tooth started

"uh oh..." I thought to myself.

"We defeated pitch hundreds of years ago, now out of the blue he comes back?! we can't just calm down!" Tooth yelled. The funny part is, Tooth barely had anger issues like this. I think she slowly started developing them from the defeat of Pitch, which was not only traumatic to her but everyone else.
Sandman tugged at Norths pants, alerting him to cut them apart.

"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT!!" North interrupted Tooth and Bunny's fight. "Bunny is right- we should calm down about all of this before we start stressing out Avery, she was already injured and now setting her in stress will make it worse."

Bunny smirked. "But, Tooth is also right, we should make sure we have a plan before anything bad happens and keep alert." Tooth grinned as Bunny scoffed.

"You all should head back so you can finish all your task...before anyone leaves, can someone check on Avery?" North asked.
I quickly rose my hand. "I can!"

This felt like the perfect opportunity to get to know her better, everyone knew she was shy and still getting used to knowing there were other guardians- and I have a feeling us becoming closer would make her feel like she's at home.

"Thank you, Jack. And give her an ice pack for her wound."'I nodded.
"You all should head back and work extra hard tonight, we have to encourage more kids to believe since we know Pitch is back." The guardians nodded and used their snow-globes to teleport.

Which left me to see Avery.

I got an ice pack and walked to her room, being quiet hoping I don't wake her up too soon.
I noticed she was already awake.
"Hey!" She jumped slightly, sighing in relief. "Hi"
"The rest of the guardians had to leave- but I didn't mind staying"
"Awesome," She said smiling a bit.

I walked over and sat on the edge of her bed. "Are you feeling ok? Any questions?"
She cocked her eyebrow. "Yeah...I'm fine..why?"
"You don't remember? that scary guy that grabbed you?" I was a bit confused that she didn't seem to remember anything...

"so that wasn't a dream" I heard her mumbled. "Oh um- right, who was that? and why were they so..mad."

"That thing that you saw, his name is Pitch, also known as the bogeyman. And ...right now we don't know- we don't know how and why he managed to come back..." I answered.
She looked down as she processed all that information.
"How's your halo doing?" I broke the silence. She seemed to forget pitch had injured her halo, She touched it and yelled. "OUCH!"

"Not so good huh..." I mumbled. "Here," I moved closer to her with some ice.
For some reason, She started to panic and backed to the wall as some magic sparked from her halo.

"Woah!" I chuckled. "No need to be feisty, it won't hurt, it'll be cold, but painless."
She gulped.
I placed the ice on her halo as she shivered.

"Still black..." I mumbled. Avery looked at her reflection in the foggy window, grumbling at the dark spot on her halo.

"I don't understand," She looked at me. "how do you know uh..."
"Pitch, well...it's a long story.."

"He wasn't a good person. Never, I mean. His purpose was to haunt children's imagination to
stop them from believing, and to take away any good dreams and turn them into nightmares

Many years ago he was so close to ending the kid's ability to believe in the guardians, but we defeated him. But now that he's back...I don't know what we will do now.."

Averys P.O.V:

I looked down, for some reason him telling me that reminded me of my magic malfunction that happened today. I started feeling rather stressed and sad.
All of that effort fighting Pitch, almost losing everything, just for him to come back?
"Listen- Pitch might have hurt me but that doesn't mean I won't help you defeat him if he does anything." She said.
I looked at her and smiled. All I had to say was..l

"You really were destined to be a guardian..."
