"Avery!"
A little girl giggled as she chased Avery.
"You can't catch me! I'm faster than you!"

Jenna was Averys best friend when they were younger. They played every day around the village, and sometimes had sleepovers at each other's house.

Not only was she friends with the amazing Jenna, she was also friends with the winter spirit, Jack Frost.

"Jack!" She called out. "Where are you?"
"Boo!" "AH!" Avery yelled as Jack jumped in front of her. "Stooppp!" She whined, making Jack laugh.

The two were best friends, always playing in the snow, Jack was kind of like a babysitter / big brother all in one.

"We need some stones," Avery said, finishing up a snowman she was making with Jack. "Right here!" Jack found some, sticking them into the snow. "Where are we gonna get a carrot?"
Jack thought for a moment before grabbing a stick, and using it as a nose for the snowman. "No, Jack! We need a carrot!" She pouted. "Aww, don't be rude to Mr. Snowman! He's perfect with it without a carrot nose"
Avery giggled, "I guess so"

But life wasn't so easy for her.
Avery was one of the many kids that grew up in a poor family, many nights she would go without food. Her hungry self would constantly beg for food from her mother, her mother would grow annoyed since she couldn't provide her what she needed, so she would yell, it soon became a habit, even when Avery did the slightest thing wrong.

Soon she began to recovery from her bad mental health, she started loving life again, until it was taken away from her.

.

Her and Jenna were playing around in the woods, until Averys eyes got attached to something far.
"Let's go climb that tree!" Avery ran to a very, very tall tree.
"That doesn't look safe..." Jenna said, feeling uneasy.

"Relax a bit! Nothings gonna happen, we will climb up and climb back down!"
Jenna gave in as she climbed with Avery. Avery was sitting on a branch, admiring the tall view as Jenna caught up, shaking from her anxiety.

"Avery, I'm scared, and I want to get down."
Jenna said. Averys sighed, "Okay, let's get-"

*Crackle*

Avery went pale as she watched the branch she was on slowly break. "Your branch is braking!" Jenna yelled. "It's fine, it's fine, let me just-"

In that moment, she fell off the branch, falling off the tree...
"AVERY!!" Jenna let out a deadly scream, watching her best friend fall from the tall tree, and off the cliff, landing to her death into a river.

Avery gasped, retreating to her current reality as she stared at the capsule.

Completely terrified.
