I woke up to the birds tweeting and the sun rising, the bright sunlight hitting my face, I rubbed my eyes as I sat up. I realized that I wasn't in my human form any longer, I was back to normal, even though I had no memory of transforming back.
I shrugged it off and noticed that Jack was asleep next to me. I hugged my knees as I remembered last night...I still feel horrible, I don't think I even did that good of a job comforting him.

I got out of bed and transformed back into a human, still not getting used to it though.
"Morning." Jack stretched as he fixed his bed head.
"Morning." I smiled. "You ready for the first day of our new plan?" I asked. "Of course." He smiled.
He transformed into a human as I got a snow globe.
"Ready?" "Ready as I'll ever be." He smirked.

I dropped the snow globe as we teleported for burgess. It was still pretty early and not many people were out yet.

"It's still pretty early..." I muttered as I looked around the empty area. "Wanna get some breakfast?" Jack asked. "I almost forgot humans eat food," I laughed. "But sure."
We both got breakfast and some coffee from a nearby restaurant, I checked the clock that was at the restaurant and noticed it was 8:00, A.K.A when the daycare opens.
"I think it's time we head over, you done?"
"Yep, let's go!" Jack smiled as we walked to the daycare. I knocked and Emma opened the door.
"You're here on time! Great, come on inside."
We both smiled and walked inside.

"Well since it's your first official day working here, I'll let you know the basics."
"We have about 15 kids that come here each day. A few have already been dropped off, they are in the play area which is just down the hall. Jeremy and Piper have a gluten allergy and Ella is vegan, so if your willing to prepare meals, make sure to remember their diets."
We nodded. "Not all kids are friendly so be careful- Aubrey is the most energized kid here, the poor girl never settles down, we don't have many shy kids besides this one boy, Jason."
"Jason?!" I blurted out. "Something wrong?" Emma gave a confused look. "Oh uh...nothing."

"Lunchtime is at 12, there is a meal chart on the fridge for what each meal is for the day throughout the week. Storytelling is at 2 and nap time is at 4, is everything clear?" Emma asked.
"Yep! we got it under control." Jack answered.

"Perfect, I'll be out most of the day so you two will be on your own."
"There aren't any other employees?" I asked. "Most of the time they give dumb excuses that they are ill, even though we both know that they aren't, but hopefully some will turn up this week."
I nodded, I'm glad it was just us, more time to spend with the kids.
"Well, I must get going, have fun!" Emma said before leaving.
"Bye," We both said.

"Okay, I have no idea what to do now." I panicked. "Just relax, it's only 15 kids." Jack said.
I don't think Jack understands. He has handled kids before...well, somewhat. I barely haven't, the only actual interaction I've experienced is granting luck.
"Hey lady!" A kid ran up to me. "Oh hi! What's your name, little guy?" I asked. "I'm Elijah, when's snack time?"
I looked at Jack and whispered, "She told us about lunchtime but not snack time..."
"It's fine, I'll look at the lunch chart, hold on." Jack whispered back, going to see when snack time is.
"I'm guessing soon, bud! Can you hold on for a bit?"
He nodded and ran off.
"Ok, I just checked and snack time is in like, an hour," Jack said.
"Alright," I sighed. "Let's go see the kids that are already here," I said. We both walked down the hall and saw 2 kids playing in the playroom. They both looked at us for a moment before going back to playing with their toy trucks.

"What are you guys playing?" Jack asked, sitting in a nearby chair. "Trucks." They both responded. "Ah."Jack nodded.
"What's your name?" I asked one of the boys who were playing with Elijah. "Peter" He responded.
This is going to be hard, I bet most of the kids won't even listen during storytime...

"So..." Jack tried starting a conversation. "Are you guys excited for storytime?" Jack asked. "It depends on what book it is." Elijah responded. "Well, it's a great book!" I said. "It's about people that you guys know, like, Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, Sandman, The tooth fairy, Jack frost..."
"Sounds boring," Peter said, throwing one of the trucks.
"It does?" I whined.
"I don't think so," Elijah said, I smile brightly "I love the Easter Bunny! My friend told me that when his dad was younger, the Easter Bunny came into his room! Along with The Tooth fairy, Santa Claus, Sandman, and Jack frost!" He exclaimed.

"That's so cool!" Jack chuckled.
I glanced at Jack and smiled at him, he did get along well with kids. Jack glanced at me as well, giving me a slight wink, I felt my cheeks go red as I looked away.

I heard a child scream playfully down the hall as I turned my head to see more children come down the hall.
I sighed as Jack placed a hand on my shoulder, "I got this, how about you get the ingredients for lunch and we can work on making lunch together?"
"Sure, thank you." I smiled as I went into the kitchen.

I went into the kitchen and got out the ingredients for lunch and peeked at how Jack was handling the kids.
My heart melted as I saw the kids play with him with a big smile on his face, he looked so happy when we spent time with kids, it made me feel better knowing being with kids makes him happier.

I took a deep breath as I finished preparing lunch, I closed the fridge and washed my hands. Jack walked into the kitchen and got a glass of water.
"Had fun?" I grinned. "Very! Those kids don't get tired." He laughed.
"Um, did you see Jason by any chance?" I couldn't help it, he was the one who believed in me first, If I get him to believe in me and all the other guardians, he could save the day!
"Sadly no, maybe his parents didn't plan on dropping him off today?" Jack guessed, I sighed.
"...How about I prepare the snacks and you can go see if Jason here? Emma did say he was shy, so he's probably playing somewhere away from the rest of the kids."
"You would do that?" I blushed. "Of course." He chuckled.
I leaned in and kissed his cheek. "Thanks, frost." I giggled before leaving the kitchen, seeing his slightly shocked face as he turned pink.

I looked around the play area and didn't see any sign of him, I checked the outside playground, the nap room, bathroom, everywhere, but no sign of him.
I sighed as I was going to tell Jack the bad news before I heard a noise coming from the small movie room that no kids were in...
I saw through the door window that the TV was on, Jason had to be in there!

I opened the door and there sat Jason, watching TV with a blanket over him.

"Hey, buddy!"

"Avery?"
