Jack felt himself land on a hard surface, he looked around but was blinded by the total darkness.Jack breathed heavily as he gripped his staff.
"We know you're here, Pitch...show yourself!" He demanded.Silence, except for the heavy breathing of the other guardians.
"We are all here, Pitch." Tooth spoke up. "You better give Avery back this instant...or you'll be regretting it." The sound of North cracking his knuckles echoed.
"You're too late..."
A light finally showed as the guardians saw Pitch towering above them."She's gone," He laughed. "She's dead."
The guardians were shocked as Pitch continued to laugh, mocking them."It was quite easy, really- without the children believing in her, she started to slowly disappear." He paced around.
"She isn't gone..." Mother Nature spoke up, showing herself. Pitch looked shocked as he saw his daughter for the first time in what felt like forever, "Emily?!" He gasped, nearly feeling his heart leap from his chest.
Emily gave a slight nod, "I'm so disappointed in you, dad."
The guardians glanced at each other to avoid the hurt that came with Pitch's expression when Emily said that."Emily- Please, I beg of you, leave these nasty guardians, and we can work together! I miss you so much." Pitch tried to woo her, but it was no use, Emily was smarter than he thought, she wouldn't go back to him unless he changed.
"No! Father, now if you excuse me, we are going to find Avery, wherever she is."
"That won't be necessary..." Pitch snarled, as black sand started to rise from the ground. Emily's eyes grew wide as she whipped her head at the guardians, "Run."
The guardians ran/flew as fast as they could. "He's spreading nightmares!" North yelled. Jack looked down at the houses he was flying across, "...To the children!" He yelled back.
Jack separated from the group, soaring through neighborhoods, freezing as many nightmare horses that he could find."AHHH!"
A large nightmare horse appeared in front of him, a big wave of ice froze the horse, as well as making a shield that protected him. Jack stared at the wave, catching his breath. "Did...Did I do that?""JACK!" North yelled as Jack whipped his head around to see a beam of black sand, shooting at him. He froze the beam, causing it to evaporate as he returned with the crew.
"We could use Sandy right now..." Bunny muttered to himself. At that moment, bright gold sand started spreading across the sky...Sandy was back!!
"Sandman!" Jack laughed with joy, as well as the other guardians.
Sandy gave a nod and a big smile, to welcome himself back."No...it can't be..." Pitch stared at Sandy in shock. "And it won't be..."
Pitch sent another huge swarm of nightmare horses to the guardians. Each guardian prepared to fight, North taking out his swords, Bunny using his boomerangs, Tooth calling all her fairies to fight, and Sandman having his dream sand prepared.
Emily pulled on Jack's hoodie, "Jack...I know where Avery is-" She whispered to him. "You do?!" Jack gasped. "Yes, she is with the man in the moon, but you must get her!"
Jack looked around at all the guardians that were overwhelmed by battling the horses, could he do this on his own?
He looked at the bright moon, he had to.
"Alright. I'm going to get her back."
