Attacked (pt. 1)

It was a cold Saturday night. Y/n was bored out of her mind, not doing anything for the weekend. She took it upon herself to take a stroll. To be able to see how gorgeous Hogwarts looked at night.

She grabbed her sweater and put on her shoes walking down to the common room. She walked with her head low, not trying to catch any attention, since she was leaving after curfew.

She walked down the stairs, bumping into someone making her lose her balance slightly. Lucky for her, an arm wrapped around her waist catching her. She looked up seeing his blonde hair.

"Oof, oh god I'm so sorry Draco! I should have seen where I was going." She let out a small laugh. Draco and Y/n weren't best friends, but they did talk to each other now and then. They would always greet each other and give each other smiles once in a while. Y/n had secretly always admired him, but never told anyone.

"Don't worry about it Y/n." He smirked, "Where are you heading to so late at night?" He asked noticing her sweater. "I'm just heading out, I'm bored out of my mind and I have nothing better to do." She told him truthfully. He raised an eyebrow and nodded, "Past curfew?" He asked again and Y/n smirked. "Asking many questions Draco." She let herself out of his grip, "I'll see you later." She told him and he nodded.

Draco couldn't help, but wonder why a girl like her was going out so late at night? He worried slightly for her. Nonetheless, he shrugged it off and sat in the common room couch with his goons.

Y/n walked towards the forbidden forest. Even though, she knew it was not allowed, she always wondered why. And tonight she was going to find out. She walked into the forest, seeing the trees and full moon. Her hot breath came out of her mouth, "Merlin it's cold." She zipped up her sweater and placed her wand in her pockets. "What's so forbidden about this? There's nothing out here?"

Oh how she spoke too soon. She heard a branch break making her turn to the sound. Her eyes winded as she placed her hand in her pocket, gripping her wand. She stood there silently waiting for any other noise, but there was nothing. Shrugging, she continued to walk.

She noticed many spiders crawling around the forest. She wasn't that scared of insects, but she changed her path, heading towards a cliff. "Oh wow this is gorgeous." She whispered to herself. She could see the stars and the huge full moon. The scenery was dream-like.

She leaned towards the rock, continuing to observe. Her thoughts were interrupted by a growl. She furrowed her eyebrows as she grabbed her wand, "Lumos." The light from her wand lit up around her. She couldn't see a thing, but a pair of yellow eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, "Uh... anyone there?" She asked, praying it was someone who was harmless. The eyes seemed to get bigger and the growl louder. Y/n stood up seeing a werewolf a few feet in front of her. She had yet to learn about those creatures, but she knew they were dangerous.

Stepping back slowly, she didn't break contact from those yellow eyes. She glanced towards the exit of the cliff. Maybe if I run I can survive? She thought, but she knew better. The werewolf was obviously faster than her. I can either get killed or try running for my life. She took the second choice.

She ran back into the forest, hearing the werewolf behind her. Her eyes became blurry as she became scared, I'm going to die.

In the common room, everyone had seemed to go to their dorms, but Draco. He noticed Y/n hadn't came back, she was gone for more than an hour. It was odd for her not to come back. She had always left past curfew, but Draco always noticed she came back. Where the bloody hell is she? He thought as he looked at the clock. He got up leaving the common room looking for Y/n.

Y/n ran through the forest, trying to reach the light of Hogwarts. She was so close, she almost made it. But the werewolf was obviously faster and stronger. It reached for her leg, scratching her, ripping her skin. She screamed in pain as she watching the wolf come closer. "Help! Somebody please!" She cried out.

Draco walked through the corridors of Hogwarts, looking for Y/n. From afar she heard her screaming. He looked to where she screamed, seeing it was by the forest. He ran towards the forest, seeing her body and bloody leg on the ground and a wolf above her. Draco grabbed his wand pointing it at the wolf, "Stupefy!" The wolf cried and ran back into the forest.

Draco eyes widened as he saw how much blood was coming out of her leg. He grabbed her, carrying her back into Hogwarts and into the Hospital Wing. Y/n had lost conscious because of the amount of blood she lost.

Draco went through the infirmary doors, yelling for help. "There was a werewolf! It injured her leg!" He told Madam Pomfrey. She nodded at the boy as he placed Y/n's limp body on the bed. He stood there with wide eyes and he watched the nurse heal her.

"Where was she?" The nurse asked and Draco shook his head. "She told me she was going for a walk. She didn't come back and I got worried, so I looked for her. And I heard her screaming and that's when I found her." He told her anxiously. 

"It's a good thing you found her, that wolf could have killed her!" Madam Pomfrey told him. "Will she be okay?" He asked as he looked at her ripped leg. "Yes, nothing a little magic can't fix. Why don't you go back to your dorm, you can come see her tomorrow." She told Draco and he nodded.

He walked back into the dungeons, noticing his white button up shirt covered in Y/n's blood. He sighed in relief, knowing Y/n was going to be okay and safe.

Draco deeply cared about Y/n and it wasn't until he saw her being attacked that he knew he liked Y/n– more than a friend. Something about not being able to see her smile again or hear her voice talk to him again made his stomach turn, in a bad way.
