Flying on Appa was unlike anything Y/n had ever done before. She had pulled out her braids to allow the to wind whip though her long white hair. They had been flying for about 4 hours south and even up in the clouds Y/n could feel the weather getting even warmer. The sunset was beautiful from the sky. It felt as if they were in a painting as Y/n watched the sun set to her right and moon rise to her left.
The moon.
Y/n was entranced by it, no the moon wasn't an 'it,' the moon was a girl, Yue. Y/n wished Yue was here to see her, she could only imagine what her friend would say. In a way Yue was here, wherever the moon was, Yue was too, watching over Y/n.
As Y/n stared at the moon, she couldn't stop thinking about that prophecy, what it could mean.
"A female bender from the north, with the weight of the world she must go forth."
Easy enough to figure out, this line was about her joining Aang, Katara and Sokka.
"She will leave the place she once called home, around the world she will roam."
Again, easy to figure out, it's about Y/n leaving home.
"Flame of royalty by her side, opposites will fight beside."
This line was tricky, there was a lot to unpack. First, flame of royalty? Y/n didn't know any royalty, besides Yue, but Yue was gone, and couldn't fight with her. Could this mean some Earth Kingdom royal? Y/n didn't know much about the Earth Kingdom royal family, but she didn't think there was anyone her age who would join them. And what was that thing about opposites? Who is her opposite? Katara and Sokka were too similar to Y/n to be her opposite. Unless it meant opposite ends of the Earth, in that case they would be Y/n's opposite, since Y/n was from the North and they were from the South. But that seemed to easy.
Flame. Flame. Fire. Fire Nation. Fire Prince.
Y/n couldn't get the image of Prince Zuko out of her head, and she had no idea why. Every time she thought about that line in the prophecy, she thought about him. Maybe she's destined to take him down. Whatever it was, Y/n hated having him constantly in her mind.
"Together they will roam, but only one will fight the throne."
This line worried Y/n. "Only one" could mean anything, does it mean that someone will have to fight a one on one, some sort of duel? Or could it mean that someone will die? And if so who? Y/n? Her opposite?
"There it is!" Katara called, snapping Y/n out of her thoughts as she pointed into the distance. Y/n crawled next to Katara as fast as possible, wanting to see what the Earth Kingdom looked like. The Earth Kingdom was nothing like the North Pole. There were large rocky mountains, rolling oceans with no icebergs, and plants. Y/n looked down in amazement at the plethora of grass and trees and flowers, the flowing rivers and rocky mountains. It was amazing.
"Hold on Y/n," Sokka smiled at the girl as they began to land in the military base.
"Welcome Avatar Aang!" Called the general walking towards the kids. He was wearing thick green clothes with sturdy armor on top, Y/n leaned over the saddle wall wondering how he survived the heat in something so thick. "I am General Fong," He continued, the entire military bowing with him. At this Y/n realized none of them were wearing shoes, their feet must be burning up on the hot concrete. She couldn't believe how different the Earth Kingdom was from the North Pole. They hadn't even been there 5 minutes and the difference was already shocking. "And welcome to all of you great heroes! Appa, Momo, brave Sokka, The Mighty Katara-"
Y/n began to dismount Appa as he spoke, but as she did, her foot got caught on the wall, causing her to tumble down Appa's side. She landed on her back with her legs in the air against one of Appa's many legs with a thud.
