It had now been a month since Ba Sing Se fell. The Southern Water Tribe warriors, the kids, and two friends of Jet, had been sailing their stolen Fire Nation ship westward. Two weeks ago they left Chameleon Bay, and a few days ago they had gone through the Serpents Pass, which now was home to a large metal wall, built by the Fire Nation of course.
Y/n was practically back to normal, she could now go through her normal routines - well as normal as it gets when you're living on a hijacked navy ship - without the constant pain of a pounding headache. She spend most of her time with Katara attempting to wake Aang up. Katara had grown considerably more angry at Y/n, with good reason. Y/n was supposed to be the best healer, but it's been a month and Aang was still out like a light. What was wrong with her?
As much as Y/n loved being on the water and being on boats surrounded by her element, she hated the Fire Navy ship. It was cold and dark and so large that she could barely feel the waves rocking beneath her. The smelly plume of black smog puffing out of the top reminded her of the invasion of her home; the black snow, the sound of unending explosions, the balls of flame decimating everything in their path. Y/n liked the ships from home better, they were small and cozy and made of wood, filled with pelts and food that made her feel safe. They weren't cold and dark and musty. Y/n never knew it was possible to hate something so much, but miss it at the same time. But she didn't know a lot of things, she knew virtually nothing about the outside world, so why was she here? She was dead weight. She hated everything. She hated the stupid boat, she hated that she failed Jet, she hated that she couldn't help Aang, she hated stupid Zuko, she hated her stupid self.
Y/n stood at the front of the ship on a particularly cloudy day staring into the horizon and drowning in her sorrow, wrapped in smelly Fire Nation clothes. She still wore her usual clothes of course, though the sleeves were now elbow length due to some tears in Ba Sing Se, and there was a patched up tear on her thigh, but Y/n had to cover her magnificent blues with dark, smelly reds. The clothes on the ship all smelled the same, ashy. Unlike the others, Y/n refused to wear the bright red cloak provided, and instead went for a dark maroon, almost black, cloak. It synched around her waist with a gray band and covered all of her Water Tribe garbs. Y/n never really cared about wearing clothes appropriate to her culture, but suddenly she didn't want to remove the blue cloth.
"Momo?" Y/n spun around to see a heavily bandaged boy laying on the ground in front of her, Aang.
"Twinkle toes!" Toph shouted from a few feet away, "Thats gotta be you!"
"Aang you're awake!" Katara cried as the three girls ran over to him
"Are you sure?" Aang mumbled as Momo settled on his shoulders, "I feel like i'm dreaming."
"You're not dreaming," Katara jumped into his arms, "You're finally awake."
"Aang good to see you back with the living buddy!" Sokka hugged him while still wearing the full Fire Navy getup, including the face covering.
"Sokka he can't see your face, you're probably terrifying him." Y/n said, ripping off Sokka's helmet and throwing it on the ground behind them before she too wrapped her arms around Aang, "I'm glad you're ok."
Aang stared at them in confusion for a moment before his eyes rolled backwards in his head, the rest of his body quickly following in suit as he passed out.

"Y/n!" Katara called, Y/n turned her eyes away from the horizon to see Katara supporting Aang as he struggled to stand, "Aang needs a healing session."
"Right, yeah, ok." Y/n exhaled before following the two inside.
"Tell me where your pain feels most intense" Y/n said as she drew two bottles of purified water to Aang's wound.
