Chapter 10~~ (Wren)

Wren, Ivy, and Undauntable were running through the woods. Well, Wren and Ivy were running, Undauntable was lagging moping about how his feet were muddy.

"Oh, no!"Wren said sarcastically, trying to cheer her and Ivy up "His fancy shoes! Ruined! Whatever shall we do about it?"

Ivy didn't laugh. neither did Wren.

Ivy motioned to Jade mountain, looming a few hundred feet ahead. wren Guessed what this meant. hide in the caves at the bottom, maybe well lose undauntable and the soldiers there. Wren guessed Ivy didn't mean the Undauntable part, But Wren hoped it happened anyways.

When they reached the mountain, Undauntable, unfortunately, was still with them, and there were no caves in sight.

so they ran around the mountain. They found a small opening, near the base about 10 minutes later, barely big enough for undauntable to fit through. The small opening led to a cave about 2 full-grown humans tall, and 5 wide.

Undauntable groaned. "It's so Dark--"

Wren slapped her hand over his mouth. "shh!" she hissed at him.

He frowned but stayed silent. after a few minutes, he said, "Y'know you accidentally hit my eyes instead of my mouth?"

Wren glared at him, even though it was too dark for undauntable to see her glare.

they stayed in the cave for about half an hour, until they were sure that the search party had passed them.

"Is it safe to come out yet?" Ivy asked

"I don't know, is it?" A voice said behind them.

Wren Jumped up "SHOW YOURSELF!" she yelled.

A plume of fire Lit up the room, revealing a Black dragon with sandy white underscales and wings.

"Did I accidentally say 'Show Yourself' In dragon?" she asked the stranger in Dragon.

the dragon looked surprised. "You speak Dragon?"

Wren squinted at her. "Ivy, Dauntable, can you understand this dragon?"

Ivy nodded, fascinated, and Undauntable frowned but nodded too.

"How do you do that?" she asked in Human.

"WREN!" Undauntable said. Wren turned around to see Undauntable struggling to get through the hole in the wall

"Get OUT of there! come back if someone could see you!"

"There is a DRAGON in the CAVE and you tell me to STAY HERE?"

Wren turned to the dragon. "are you going to kill us?"

The dragon wrinkled her snout. "No."

"See? it's SAFE. now COME HERE."

"I'm stuck!"

"No, you're not, now get your dauntable butt over here!"

"You already used that one" Ivy muttered to her

"Here," the dragon said pleasantly. "IF YOU DON'T GET OUT OF THAT HOLE WITHIN the next FIVE SECONDS I will BURN YOU TO A CRISP!" she yelled ay Undauntable.

"Hmm, yeah, thanks, but we were trying to NOT get discovered by a search party?" Wren said to the Dragon.

"Sorry," she said sarcastically.

So! I have a stomach bug, so I have an ENTIRE DAY to WRITE! prepare for ULTIMATE UPDATING

"What's your name?" The dragon asked.

"Wren. Wren, Ivy, and Undauntable but please call him Dauntable"

Undauntable frowned. "Really, M'lady, that name doesn't suit me! My parents--"

"Love you enough to give you such a stupid name?" Wren finished for him.

"NO," he protested.

"At least let the DRAGON call you 'Dauntable'!"

"Why?"

"Because between the two of us, SHE will probably do the most daunting."

Undauntable glared at the dragon.

"What?" the Dragon asked defensively

"Don't you DARE daunt me!"

"Noooope." the dragon said, grinning smugly

"What IS your name, anyway?" Wren questioned.

"Desert Moon," the dragon said, crossing her arms and leaning back on her tail.

"Yeah... no offense but you look like more of a desert night to me," Wren said pointing to her dark scales.

The hybrid laughed. "Yeah, It's my dad's fault. He's a Night Wing, and my mom's a Sand Wing."

"Clearly. do you know your mom?"

Desert Moon frowned. "What's with all the personal questions?" she asked

Wren rolled her eyes and said, "Technically only one. We need to know if we can trust you. Because there's the fact that, I don't know, you're, what, THREE TIMES OUR SIZE AND YOUR SPECIES EATS US AS A SNACK."

Desert Moon seemed to think on that for a few seconds. "Come to think of it, I would have eaten you guys in a heartbeat if it wasn't for that scavenger that came into my dad's cave and started talking. Before that, I didn't even know that you had emotions, none the less your own language.

"But, yeah, my dad said that my mom didn't want my egg, so he stole it before she could.... I don't know, smash my egg or something. He knew she didn't want me because I wouldn't fit in." tears started to well up in her eyes. "Then... since I learned that my mom became queen... I've been in hiding ever since."

Wren looked sympathetically at Desert Moon. she Hesitated, then opened her mouth and said, "My entire family is a bunch of a** holes tambien. I know how it feels."

"Your WHOLE family?" she asked. "And what's an 'a**'?"

"no, and none of your concern," Wren said. "My brother Is pretty cool... "

Ivy muttered something about "that's an understatement"

Wren grinned cheekily at Ivy, Then turned back to Desert Moon. "He was captured by an Ice Dragon and brought to this mountain." she Glanced around the cave, foolishly hoping that he would jump out any second.

"my friend, too. He's a dragon, and was captured by humans, or scavengers..."

Desert Moon muffled a laugh. "sorry it's just hard to imagine a dragon being captured by humans."

Ivy glared at her "there were THIRTY of them! and Sky doesn't like hurting anyone, AND doesn't have fire!"

"hmm. Yeah, that kinda does it."

"SPEAKING of WICH," wren jumped in. "there is a SEARCH party LOOKING for us and my BROTHER AND best friend are CAPTURED by people/dragons who could KILL them and probably WANT TOO."

"ooh, I can help with that." Desert Moon said. "for one, I can take on thirty scavengers, and if I'm disguised as a regular Nightwing, I can get your brother!"

"AND" Ivy added in. "you can help us look for a golden dragon!"

Wren groaned "fine. Ivy, you can go out and hunt, and then well tomorrow night we'll leave."

Ivy Grinned. "finally a plan," she said. "let's get them back"
