Chapter 14 ~~ HELP ME (Deathbringer)

Deathbringer was enjoying the silence in the rainforest. FINALLY, Kinkajou, "The queen's 'Best' friend" (everyone knew Deathbringer was her best friend, if not more) was gone and not blabbering about mangos and sloths and rainbows bla bla bla.

now... he was alone with glory, now...

"DEATHBRINGER! I'm going to Jade mountain." Glory said. "and don't follow me either!" she quickly added before he could ask if she needed a bodyguard. She gave him a so-that-is-the-end-of-this-discussion look, but, of course, she didn't really mean that. it was code for, I-need-you-to-come-with-me-you're-the-best-dragon-ever-and-by-the-way-can-you-marry-me look. OBVIOUSLY.

"Why?" he said. "Did a Cave blow up?"

"That is still not convincing me that you're not a mind reader. yes, a cave blew up," she deadpanned.

"Wait WHAT."

"Bye, Deathbringer!" She started to flap off.

Deathbringer frowned. hmm. he thought maybe Tsunami will dream visit me so I HAVE to come!

He curled up into a ball and tried to sleep. com on, Tsunami he thought. then he felt a tapping on his tail.

"mm?" he said tilting his snout up but still not opening his eyes.

"SQUEAK! squeak squeak!

HEY! YOU! we were supposed to come to you for help?

Deathbringer's eyes flew open. In front of him, were 2 hideous scavengers. He stood up fast and started to run. byallthemoonsbyallthemoonsBY ALL THE MOONS!!!! They've come for me! GLORY!! WHERE ARE YOU WHEN I NEED YOU! help help help help help help help help help help help help help help AAAAG!

He turned around to face the hideous monsters and found that one of them had a SWORD. and PUFFY BROWN FUR. MOTHER OF ALL LAVA MONSTERS! It couldn't be the same one? COULD IT? oh my moons I'm DEAD. it's coming closer! AAAAAAAGGGGG! he turned around and saw a RainWing. Maracuya, if he remembered correctly.

"H-hello um- look at these- cute scavengers-" he shivered. "now I uh, if you could watch them, uh, I think maybe some of the night wings would like to eat them? uh, just please make sure they don't escape! bye! he launched off the platform when a voice said,

"COME BACK HERE RIGHT NOW MURDERBASKET!!"

Oh, my moons! I'm dead!!!

"Who said that?" Maracuya said, leaping into a battle position, teeth bared.

"Me," The scavenger, Wren, if he remembered correctly, said.

Deathbringer crept into a shadow and with almost impeccable movements slid out of the hut.

"MURDERBASKET! I SEE YOU TRYING TO ESCAPE!!" Wren roared.

"Murderbasket?" Maracuya said, wrinkling her snout in amusement.

from the shadows he saw Wren turning to Maracuya. "hello, if you could please help us, we are in need of finding that scaredy-dragon hiding in the corner over there, " she said politely, pointing to the exact spot Deathbringer was hiding.

"W-what do you need?" he asked with as much confidence as he could muster.

"Our friend was captured by scavengers and we need a dragon to help get him back," she explained.

"NO! Please, NO! ask Maracuyá! Not me! PLEASE! as much as I want to see my mom again I also want to have eggs with- um, JUST NO!!!"

He crept further into the shadows. only a few more tails and I'm out of this room-

Wren was standing right in front of his snout. "PLEASE," she said desperately. "I NEED an assassin on this job!"

"I could go with you," Maracuya said. I can spit venom and hide you with my scales. I'm almost the perfect assassin!"

Deathbringer snorted in amusement.

Maracuyá frowned. "Would you rather do it?"

"...No," he responded honestly.

"So then let me do it!"

Wren studied her brown and golden scales thoughtfully. "Show us your camouflage. and Magical Death Spit," she ordered.

Maracuya nodded thoughtfully, as if thinking about her surroundings, and disappeared into thin air. Deathbringer had seen this many themes before, so he wasn't surprised, but it was fun to see the look on Wren's face as she turned into the air. His worst fear. Afraid.

he sized this moment to leaf out of the window, and flap as hard as he could to glory's general direction.

"HEY! COME BACK! oh, never mind," he heard Wren say.

It cant get me up here. I'm safe. don't worry, Glory, I'm coming.
