Chapter 13 ~~ A SanWing's Tail (Leaf)

Leaf was freeeeee! Well, Kind of. Winter hadn't exactly let him go, he kind of provoked Qibli to breathe fire on his cage, the same way they had made the DesertDragon guards do.

So he was running. again. he was hoping to reach DesertMoon's cave BEfore WInter or Qibli realized he had left. THey were currently having a fight.

he rounded the corner and found desert mon sneaking out of a cave with a few jewels in her hand.

"what are you doing?" he asked

Desert Moon Jumped, and her face dropped to a very, very, very guilty face.

"I- Um- I- I was just- um-"

"stealing?"

She managed to look even more guilty. "I- I- Like you said- I- well, yes," she claimed herself. "I was. the SeaWing Princess has SO MANY and I need to stay alive somehow-- they were in a corner collecting dust so she probably forgot about them anyways- and I can sell them to that SkyWing for 2 month of food- the one with a scar on his face- and Dinner, my Dad's fox won't give me any because of it's enchantment- and I need food- and My dad won't enchant anything else- and um-"

"Okay! okay. I get it. in fact... I can help you steal stuff? I mean, I'm about 20 times smaller than you so... yeah! I mean, as long as it's nothing... nothing HUGE."

Desert Moon smiled. "Really?"

LEaf smiled. "as long as you don't eat me," he joked.

Desert Moon Wrapped, well, tried to wrap her wings around Leaf. "Thank you. For understanding" she said softly

OH MY MOONS What did I DO? I made Leaf a thief! oh, well. at least he's stealing from Anemone.

Leaf and Desert Moon walked down the hallway in silence for a while.

"Sooo.." Leaf said awkwardly. "What's the deal woth your family?"

"oh," Dessert Moon said. "My dad saved me from my mom. she... I don't know, my dad said that she didn't want any heirs to the 'throne' of the scorpion den. that she wanted all the power... and I could take that power form her. so she was going to smash my egg, but my dad said he did already, and brought me here."

Leaf gave her a pittying look, and was about to respond when tey hear d ctalons clicking on the stone cave.

"hide!" DEsert Moon said, grabbing leaf and dving into a corner.

in one quick movement she tucked her wings in and put her back to the cave, so only her black scles wre showing.

"Woah." Leaf breathed. she had dissapeard compleatly.

I guess thats what 3? 5? years of hiding does to you. she must have really good practice.

Desert Monn made an almost silent hissing sound and nodded her head to a crevice in the rock. Leaf understood un ducked under there.

click. click. click. the talons approached, and reavealed a young Desert Dragon and a Rainforest dragon The Rain Forest Dragon had flowers around her neck and kept her wings partially spread out as if to feel the cave around herself.

wait, are tamirin and Ostrige in the same winglet...?

"are you sure yousmelled Qibli's friend's scavenger...?" The Desert Dragon said.

"Yes," the Rainforest Dragon said. "And I heard squeaking..."

"yes... but, wait, THERE!" The Desert ragon pointed her barbed tail at Leaf. " I found it!"

She stepped forward to grab Leaf, but.. oh no. Leaf thought as she came closer. and then... her tailbarb scrached Desert Moon's skin.

"NO!" he yelled, and The Desert Dragon Jumped back in surprise.

He ran around ans looked at Desert Moon. her face was trying very hard to contain her pain, he could tell. The Dragon's Tail Didn't miss. Desert Moon hhad been poisined.
