*H E R O*
I sit on my balcony with a cup of coffee in my hand. It's very early and so quiet outside. I can hear the birds and the leaves of the trees. The world is just coming to life. There's a beautiful sunrise which makes the lake all different kinds of pink. I take a few deep breaths and take it all in. I take another sip of my coffee. Diego is a legend for bringing it over this early. The view, the coffee.. Feels good!
It's been a few days since I said goodbye to Jack and Lizzie. I was sad to see them go but I'm a lot calmer now. Jack and Lizzie were a constant reminder of Charlotte. Now that they're gone I'm a bit more relaxed. I'll be glad when this film is over. The estate and the sets just remind me of her so much. They hold so many bad memories. When I'm out of here, my last link with Charlotte is gone. And that will be good. Just a few more days and then I'll be off to L.A. to visit a friend. Some vacation with my friends will be good for me. It'll only be a few days though because I'm expected in Vancouver soon. Vancouver is a short project so maybe I can plan a boystrip afterwards. Just the thought of that makes me smile. Me, the boys, beer, a beach, some girls. I really need to look into that.
I hear a noise and I lean over to look where it's coming from. Another early soul. It's Scott, he's walking towards the lake. Even from this distance I can see the sadness that surrounds him. I don't know what's wrong with the dude. He looks just like the way I feel. And he's been looking that way for a while now. Maybe I can take him out for a beer. He looks like he can use one. I know it's about a girl but that's about all I know. I grin. The only two souls awake at this hour are the ones that have girl troubles.
My phone starts ringing. Great, goodbye peace and quiet. I look at the screen and I see it's Mel calling. I'm not in the mood for drama but something might be wrong with her or the baby so I pick up anyway.
"Hi Mel, what's up?"
"Oh hi, darling, good you're up!"
"Yeah.. are you okay?"
"No, not really. I just feel awful this morning. I hate being pregnant. Stupid morning sickness," she complains.
I silently curse and roll my eyes. Not what I needed.
"Sorry to hear that, Mel."
"Would you be so kind to run downstairs and get me a ginger ale, please?" she asks in a girly tone. She knows I won't say no.
I sigh.
"Yes, of course. Let me take a quick shower and I'll be there."
"Thanks," she says. "You're a legend." She hangs up the phone.
I sigh and get up.
"Hi Diego," I say as I enter the kitchen. "Do you have some ginger ale?"
"Yeah sure. Why?" he laughs. "Do you have a hangover or something?"
"Nah, Melany isn't feeling too well."
"Oh, well, if the Princess asks.." The disapproving tone in his voice is clear. Here we go again.
"Don't start, Diego," I beg.
"I'm not saying anything," he says with his hands held up in the air.
"I can hear it in your tone," I warn him.
"All I'm saying is that this type of behavior is what got you in trouble in the first place."
"She doesn't have anyone else dude."
"Well, I'm guessing the baby has a daddy. So where is he?"
I don't have an answer for him because I don't know myself. I have been wondering about that lately. I know Melany doesn't want to talk about it. But how can she not know who the father is? I mean, she's a famous actress so surely she's not sleeping around that much. She must have some idea. Maybe we need to have a chat about that.
