"He punched a wall!?" Kenya whisper yelled as Finn shushed her once again. Though Finn originally thought going back to work at Wyatts office would be good for them, it seemed that "We're in fucking Chipotle who's gonna hear us here?!"
"Yes, and honestly I'm more worried about Sarah and Kaitlyn hearing." Finn rolled his eyes with a whisper. Kaitlyn and Sarah knew that Finn had a boyfriend whose identity he wasn't ready to disclose; considering they'd only ever heard Finn speak ill of Wyatt and since for all they knew he was engaged to a girl, they never suspected it might be Wyatt. Thus leaving Kenya as the only person who knows.
"They're late as usual. But seriously, he punched a wall!? You sure he ain't straight?" Kenya asked lowly, watching Finn's bright green eyes glare at her. "But the Montgomerys are known statewide for being allies of the black community. Samuel Montgomery literally prosecuted against the KKK when he was the Georgia State Attorney General, he marched alongside civil rights activists during the Civil Rights Movement as a State Rep when it was unheard of for a white republican, and he was a huge voice in removing the Confederate flag from the State Capitol as US senator. Is anyone honestly surprised that his grandson would follow in his footsteps?"
"That's what I'm saying! Their family is like, super mindful about being politically correct on race related issues. Like, they live on their family's old 'plantation' but they insist on calling it a 'farm' because Wyatt's Pawpaw says 'the term "plantation" harks back to a dark horrific time in America that will forever be a stain on our nation's history'." Finn whispered matter of factly. "I remember the summer after freshman year, I figured out that Sawyer was like, suuuupper sensitive about having no diverse friends. They lived in this super unseasoned small-ass-southern-ass town with like, zero diversity. So naturally, being the chaotic evil person I am, I kept taunting Sawyer for having only white friends and he'd get so defensive. Eventually he got fed up of me and shoved me into the grass; it didn't hurt but I started crying anyway just to make him feel guilty. Wyatt got so mad, he punched Sawyer in the arm. My knight in shining armor." Finn gushed sappily with literal heart-eyes.
"Awww, I feel like that'd be cute if literally all y'all didn't need some form of therapy." Kenya drawled sassily before shaking her Chipotle bowl to mix it all together.
Every Saturday, Finn and his roommates would meet at the Chipotle by their apartment in Alexandria to have lunch and catch up. Since Finn had been living with Wyatt, or as they knew him "Finn's secret boyfriend", this was the only real time they all got to hang out and catch up.
Wyatt usually used this time to work out and go for a run in town as he loved to do so much, since Finn hated it. He never understood why people ran for fun; why run if you're not running from something or to something. And though Wyatt would love to nothing more than to always have Finn to himself, he knew it wasn't healthy for them to always be together.
Wyatt took out his AirPods as he walked into the Chipotle by his house, figuring he'd grab lunch post run and go back home before hanging out with Finn later tonight. He walked in and the smell of delicious Mexican food ensnared his senses as he got in line behind two girls who looked to be around Finn's age; though he wasn't one to listen in on conversations he couldn't help it this time as he heard a name that always managed to draw his attention.
"I honestly just wanna know who his secret guy is!" The girl said in hushed tones as she made a quick sweep of the restaurant; clearly making certain somebody in particular wasn't around.
"Whose guy?" The second girl asked at a normal speaking volume as the other girl shushed her.
"Finn! God, who else!?" The first girl whisper yelled irritatedly. Wyatt's eyes inadvertently shifted to the girls as he realized these girls were probably Finn's roommates.
