Even if Morgaine insisted for Edwin to take some soldiers, the two-thousand-year-old general decided to leave alone, he picked up some supplies and left before the sun went down.
When the sun touched his white skin the man remembered to check if he was taking everything he needed. The blood-red cloak that covered his body and hid what his hands touched under his clothing, when the verification movements had finished he had already crossed the frozen forest and reached the Emerald River, where the frozen sun, the great legacy of Vladimir ended. As he jumped down the river Edwin remembered his father, who sacrificed himself so that the vampires would no longer suffer from the presence of the werewolves.
The icy sun was built beneath the earth with Vladimir's blood. A spell cast by a merchant, every werewolf who stepped on this earth would instantly be killed, not to mention that the abilities of vampires are magnified. What Vladimir did not know then and that today is the deadly secret amongst vampires is that when a pureblood vampire dies, all those who have been created by him become mortal again.
The night came and Edwin despite being a nocturnal creature, decided to rest under a willow, even in the presence of the moon he still sweated and felt the warmth of the wolves on his skin. He remembered why Vladimir had started a slaughter against the wolves, that they exhale when they breathe, a heat so strong that it burns every cell in a vampire's body, an agony almost unbearable, were not the vampires created from the pain they would have succumbed to this evil:
-I still want to finish what my father started.
As soon as the sun touched Edwin's face again, he began to grow color, he decided to leave the cloak and he could see his white shirt with the coat of arms of the royal house - two crossed swords, one hand in the position holding something and two tusks in half moon - a cloth, trousers, two sheaths on the waist and some bottles tied in the leather belt. The more inside Edwin was in the green forest the more heat came, the sweating, and the changing features. His skin was turning orange, his large black eyes were turning honey-colored, his long, black hair was the same color as his eye. Green veins were visible through his body and his teeth yellowed.
When Edwin stopped in front of a large gate a statue of a dead man in black marble, one man that he had known and gone after to kill a long time ago. The guards recognized the symbol on his chest and unceremoniously let him into the castle. As usual, the wolves offered a large, isolated, empty room; in an attempt to alleviate the vampire's agony.
When the day was born, Alexa received Edwin. Impatient as always he was straight to the point, ignoring the number of wolves and men in the room.- I am here at the request of Morgana Vladi II, wife of Lucius Vladi I and ruler of Elatre.
The last sentence seems to have surprised the wolves, which made Edwin happy to confirm that Elatre's affairs remained confidential and explained more clearly.
- Somehow Lucius is on the verge of death. The heat of you is even more harmful now and Morgaine has two proposals. Or you give half of Zulcan so that our merchant expands the icy sun, or you offer pure blood so that we can make a ritual of recovery for our king. - Edwin reached one of the scabbards, which made them all alert.
Alexa knew that the first option was too risky, to increase vampire power so much, if a war broke out they would annihilate the wolves in a moment.
Edwin who was never friendly with the wolves threw a dagger to the ground and ordered:
- The answer. Now! Do not forget who I am!
They all looked at Edwin, then they looked at the dagger again, it was covered with hair of various colors. Each for a werewolf Edwin had killed two millennia ago. Some say that just before the peace treaty Vladimir and Edwin killed a thousand werewolves alone.
