Morgaine was sited in a closed carriage, pulled by two strong horses, driving it was a servant, and inside of the luxurious carriage, lined with silks and velvet of blood-red color, was Aurea, admiring the view through a circular window on the door, she looked like a kid who saw the world for the first time. Morgaine and Aurea we're almost the same age, but Aurea was a decade or two younger than Morgaine and it was this enthusiasm for life, that she never lost after all these years the main reason that made Morgaine fell in love with her.
She was a simple maid that cleaned her room, but one morning after Lucius vicious assault the night before, she caught Morgaine crying, and instead of turning her back and minding her own business she courageously talked to Morgaine, they spent the morning talking, and because of that, Morgaine felt better but Aurea was punished, after a while, Morgaine had asked her why she risked the punishment and didn't tell under harassment why she'd failed the tasks for the day, it was when she answered that if the positions were reversed she would like someone to do the same and she wouldn't even betray the trust of someone.
At that moment Morgaine understood that she could use someone like Aurea by her side, and did anything she could to give her the position of the chambermaid, then the position of Secretary.
When the carriage went to a stop, Morgaine figured they've reached the destination, she opened the door and a pungent odor of wet dog with excrement hit her nostrils, she saw a large encampment and lots of man and some women semi-clothed, others walked by in their wolf form.
One of her warriors guided them to a middle tent guarded by two semi-clothed men, showing their muscled torso and their legs, they were barefoot but didn't seem to mind the cold, they opened the tent for them to pass through. Inside they found a round table with maps splattered all over, some figurines rested in key points, and a man was hovering those maps, he looked up to meet Morgaine.
His brown eyes with leaflets of green startled Morgaine, she had seen eyes like those in King Marcus eyes, it was a mark of the Natural Born werewolf and the bloodline of Simia, the first Queen to signed the treaty, that shed a little bit of light into his origins when she first had heard of this werewolf she didn't understand how he could exist, but now, seeing him, she knew. He was a few years younger than Queen Alexa, just the right age, as to when Queen Sirenna, Alexa's mother had disappeared right before she agreed to sacrifice herself to maintain the treaty, she must have been pregnant with this man, and knowing the Treaty wouldn't allow him to live she must have hidden him and just now he was revealing himself.
She burst to laugh out loud, making all eyes turn to her:
- What's so funny, my Lady? - Asked the werewolf.
- I know now, who you are, what your lineage is, and seems to me that fate is a twisted bitch with revenge on her heart! - Said Morgaine looking at his eyes.
- Would you care to explain? - Asked Rufus with an arched eyebrow.
- Don't know if I should... - Morgaine started, seeing the reaction of the young man, who pressed his fists against the table, to control his anger, all her guard and servants were silent, not wanting the cold wrath of the woman turned toward them. - Oh! Whatever... I'll tell you, that I knew your parents, your father died in a battle that he created and your mother after abandoning you she died to maintain the treaty, so you could live, hidden spirits know where. And here you are following your father steps, creating a war, against your sister, if I didn't want to see Zulcan annihilated once and for all I would retreat a see you kill each other.
- I have a sister? - Was the only question he worded, his face stoned cold as if he didn't have emotions.
-Oh yes! But instead of eating scraps like you did to survive, she is Queen of Zulcan, born and raised with all the richest that was possible to have.
A vein in the neck of the man popped from tension, anger was visible in his brown eyes.
- She will have what she deserves! She isn't more powerful than I am! She can't be, I became stronger through struggle she didn't struggle to obtain anything.
- I hope you're right about that! I have heard that she is powerful but it was only rumored, and your pack has five times the number of her pack. I believe it will be an easy victory, especially because she isn't in Zulcan and she doesn't know what is happening here and no one knows where she is, she might be dead for all we know.
- That would be good, it would be easier to overpower her pack members and make them mine.
- What is your plan? - Asked Morgaine pulling a chair and sitting in front of the desk, in a provocative position.
- We will siege the Castle, and I'll lead a small team up the south wall, from the inside we will open the gates.
- How will you do that, do you know anything from the inside of the castle?
- I know that there are only five members of the pack, and also know that the villagers were not trained in the fighting arts, outside a handful of guards that remain in the main entrance to the Castle and the gated forest, there isn't any troops, no army. So it will be an easy target. They have a weak link inside, Flora is the weakest in fighting and Charles is only a bookworm, Arya is a sun sorceress and she doesn't do any training. Andrew and Elia are formidable working together but separated are no match for me and my men. Truman is the one that might give some trouble but nothing to worry about.
- I hope you're right. What about Flavius? - She asked.
- He is still trying to find where Queen Alexa and Prince Edwin are, but if he doesn't find them he'll join us before we reach the castle, I'll need him to counteract their sorceress!
A man entered the tent, one of the Rufus wolves, he got to his leader and whispered into his ear, the rage was taking hold of his face and was noticeable when he growled:
- What? How is that possible?
- Sir, I'm only relaying information! - The man shook in fear.
- I believe this isn't good news, so what is it, share it with the group Rufus!
- Someone broke our weapons and the fields of food are being burned! Amora Castle knows where we are and they are trying to disrupt the inevitable! - Rufus said to the committee of vampires.
- We will handle the security of weapons and food! - Told him Morgaine. - Since it's pretty visible that you can't handle that!
- No you will not! Not alone! If yours are to keep our weapons and food then it has to be done with the werewolves too! - He told her, with rage.
- I'm fine with that. But what about what it's already lost? - Asked Morgaine.
- We will order the smiths to work double-time to replace it! It will be ready when we reach Amora Castle!
- We will see, luckily I've brought some smiths of my own. Joining forces was what it was meant to be from the first time we aligned our plans.
- Yes Lady Morgaine. Now if you'll excuse me I have other things to do! Find a place in the camp to mount the tent and get your men working with mine, after settling in.
- I will Rufus! Good night. - Morgaine said her goodbyes and left the tent with her guard following her.
